Hello, Karan Chauhan Freelancer, and welcome to Wikipedia. I'm Mathglot and I've volunteered to be your Wikipedia mentor. I'm here for you whenever you need help with Wikipedia. It's great to have you on board to help create this online encyclopedia.

To help you get started, your homepage has a brief tutorial. If you need some ideas about what kind of things need doing, try the "Suggested edits" module top left on your homepage, or the Task Center.

Help is available: as your Mentor, you can always find me listed in the "Mentorship module" bottom right on your homepage; there are also additional help links there. You can also ask me questions directly on my talk page, or try the Wikipedia:Teahouse to get help designed especially for new users from a team of experienced volunteers. So go ahead and ask questions — we’re here to help! And once again, welcome to Wikipedia! Mathglot (talk) 04:56, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Welcome!

Hello, Karan Chauhan Freelancer, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, which will be reviewed by other editors. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Thank you for the guidance. I will ensure the article is written neutrally and follow Wikipedia’s policies, including disclosure requirements. Karan Chauhan Freelancer (talk) 16:39, 20 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Sandbox

edit

Please note that pages in your personal sandbox, such as User:Karan Chauhan Freelancer/sandbox, are not allowed to be filed in categories as if they were real articles in mainspace, per WP:USERNOCAT. The page must stay out of any categories while it's in sandbox, and this is not an optional or flexible or negotiable rule at all.

As the page has had to be pulled out of categories by myself or other editors three times in less than 24 hours, do not readd it to categories again. Note as well that there can be consequences for disruption if you don't cease and desist in adding it to categories, such as the immediate deletion of the page and/or the temporary or permanent removal of your editing privileges. Bearcat (talk) 15:59, 20 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the clarification. I understand that categories are not allowed in sandbox pages and will not add them again until the article is moved to mainspace. Karan Chauhan Freelancer (talk) 16:35, 20 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
I have restored the categories to your sandbox, under draft protection using template {{draft categories}}. (Your solution using prefixed colons as you attempted in this edit was also acceptable. The template solution is better, because when your draft is moved to mainspace, the categories are automatically populated without you having to do anything, while with the colon-prefix approach the categories are not populated until you remove the colons first. But either way is fine.)
It is perfectly okay to add categories to your drafts as long as they are protected by embedding within this template. In addition, as a new user, it is normal to make mistakes, and you deserve better treatment than you got. I apologize for the unwarranted tone in the message above; the user in question probably didn't realize you are a new user, and is very active patrolling categories and used to dealing with long-time abusers, and probably was just moving too fast. So please don't be upset or scared off editing; we want and welcome new editors!
I personally guarantee that you will not get in trouble, accused of disruption, blocked, or anything else, as long as you use the template solution or the colon solution (and if you make a mistake, don't worry, just fix it, or ask for help.) If you wish, at your option every time you add draft-protected categories to a sandbox page, you may refer to this comment or link my user page in your edit summary, saying 'per [[User:Mathglot]]', and I will take responsibility for it. Sorry about all this, and really, welcome to Wikipedia, and please continue editing. Call on me anytime you have a question, or try the Wikipedia:Teahouse for faster response from a team of experienced volunteers. Happy editing! Mathglot (talk) 21:38, 20 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your guidance and support—I really appreciate your help. When I start working on moving the draft from sandbox to mainspace, I will definitely seek your advice and assistance. Karan Chauhan Freelancer (talk) 01:12, 21 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Feedback
The reviewer, DoubleGrazing, left the following feedback:
This draft is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Wikipedia's verifiability policy requires that all content be supported by reliable sources.
  • Reliable sources include: reputable newspapers, magazines, academic journals, and books from respected publishers.
  • Unacceptable sources include: personal blogs, social media, predatory publishers, most tabloids, and websites where anyone can contribute.
Replace any unreliable sources with high-quality sources. If you cannot find a reliable source for the material, it should be removed.
This draft's references do not show that the person meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion for people. The draft requires multiple published secondary sources that:
  • provide significant coverage: discuss the person in detail, not brief mentions or interviews lacking independent analysis;
  • are reliable: from reputable outlets with editorial oversight;
  • are independent: not connected to the person, such as interviews, press releases, the subject's own website, or sponsored content.
Please add references that meet all three of these criteria. If none exist, the subject is not yet suitable for Wikipedia.

Next steps
