Question from Notette (18:19, 16 June 2026)

Hey! I understand why some pages have their editing protected and I don't reach their standards, so, although not a question about Wikipedia's editing, I'd like to request you to edit John F. Kennedy's page, under his information square (I don't know what that's called, but I'd love if you informed me!), and under his presidency section, there are hyperlinks to his Vice President and the president that preceded him. The links to his VP and to the preceding presidency work and are there, but Lyndon B. Johnson's hyperlink is missing. --Notette (talk) 18:19, 16 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

After finding the previously mentioned detail out, I couldn't help but look through each president's pages, and I found some important information. Firstly, a handful of presidents' pages are unprotected, and to name them, they are as follows: James K. Polk's, Millard Fillmore's, Franklin Pierce's, James Buchanan's, and Rutherford B. Hayes's. Along with a handful of pages being unprotected, all the rest of the president's pages have varying degrees of protection, and they don't all have the same type of protection on their page.
I looked through each president's page, and a large number of them have their preceding/proceeding presidency's hyperlink missing, and the ones that have this issue are as follows: George Washington's (crazy, I know), John Adams's, Andrew Jackson's, William Henry Harrison's, Zachary Taylor's, Abraham Lincoln's (also crazy), James A. Garfield's, Warren G. Harding's, (as previously mentioned) John F. Kennedy's, Richard Nixon's, Ronald Reagan's, Donald Trump's, and Joe Biden's.
Also, looking through my list, I've noticed that their middle names are either there, or they are omitted or shortened. (Although I'm not going to go through and decipher which is pages have this, lol).
Considering it is hit or miss, I think this is a short-sighted mistake. It's little, but I noticed it. I'd like to know if this is something that is a mistake or if I'm missing out on some context.
Also, I'm not sure if I should be asking/requesting this on your page, and if I'm not supposed to, then I'm very sorry. Notette (talk) 18:43, 16 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
