Hello, I'm BlueboyLINY. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, WXYT (AM), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. BlueboyLINY (talk) 00:05, 25 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hello BlueboyLINY,
- I sourced the article off of the Central Michigan Chippewas football page, media tab and copied the existing reference that was on that page (that page referenced WXYT). Probably should have looked for something more current that would likely be more accurate. Thanks for checking up on this but this does open up a door that the CMU football media reference needs to be re-verified... will look into this and add credible source(s) if found Hcb02 (talk) 01:20, 25 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hello,
- At your convenience, review WXYT (AM), I have found a more current article on affiliates sourced direct from the team website, from 2023 Hcb02 (talk) 03:08, 25 February 2024 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
edit
Hello, Hcb02. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page WCMU-TV, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Also, your edits could use some work. I suggest you ask my friend @Sammi Brie:. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 11:58, 9 March 2024 (UTC)
- Hello Mvcg66b3r,
- I apologize that my edits to WCMU-TV may allude to a conflict of interest, I personally do not have a conflict of interest with the entity, I have just been trying to keep up with the transmitter fire situation as news develops and trying to keep the Wikipedia page as up-to-date as possible.
- I am human, I make mistakes, I do appreciate any room for improvement, yes my edits do need some work, I always strive to improve wherever possible as to not make the same mistake twice.
- I will mention too I have no affiliation with WCMU Hcb02 (talk) 12:52, 9 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Hcb02 Thanks for working on the page. I wish I had the resources to do more with this page. I'll see what I can do to improve it. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 15:05, 9 March 2024 (UTC)
