I have sent you a note about a page you started
Hi Harrz. Thank you for your work on Cornwall Services. Another editor, SunDawn, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
Thank you for creating the article! May you have a blessed day on the beginning of this year!
To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|SunDawn}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

How?
Regarding your recent CfD with hundreds of categories - I'd love to learn what script or gadget can be used to select multiple categories for a nom, notify editors, etc. I sometimes want to mass nom categories but don't do it, b/c I don't want to do it manually and each time I asked, nobody knows hot to automate this. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 00:22, 7 January 2025 (UTC)
- I used a script called massXFD by Qwerfjkl. There are instructions on how to use it and how to install it on your common.js page on the tool's page. You can only use it for categories and redirects though, hope that helps! harrz talk 00:43, 7 January 2025 (UTC)

Thanks for your contributions to Wildfires in 2025. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit for review" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Warm Regards, Miminity (Talk?) (me contribs) 03:59, 8 January 2025 (UTC)

Barnstar
How many barnstars have you received? Are you a bold editor? Engage01 (talk) 17:14, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- Stop!
- I am asking you about the article. Would you have a conversation about it? Engage01 (talk) 17:20, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, I am happy to talk about it. I would recommend starting with that in the future, as a question about my barnstars is entirely irrelevant. harrz talk 17:22, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- Everything relates including the ruddy duck article which I edited. First, of what interest is it to you about how celebrities are affected in the article about the fire? Did you see how many of them lost their homes? If you want to find quotations from them and supply them to the article, that's great. Engage01 (talk) 17:24, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- I am unsure what you are talking about as the edit of yours which I reverted was a long quote from a celebrity. I removed it for multiple reasons: it had already been removed previously; it clutters the page with largely unnotable information (for example a long description about what the fire looked like and an account of his personal experience whilst evacuating); and mainly because it is purely unnecessary - the 3-4 sentences about Steve Guttenburg and his reactions to the fire is sufficient. I would advise you to look at WP:3RR as this is edit warring, and would recommend you revert this edit for the reasons I have mentioned. harrz talk 17:31, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- I was saying and reiterate, look at the size of the article. 40k. Do you want to guess how large it will become?
- Guttenberg's style of speaking requires editing anyway. I already put ellipses in it and shortened it in another way. If you want to post on this page an edited quotation, fine. It's very noteworthy how he spent several hours or longer trying to get to his home. It is unknown if he lost his home or not. The rest of the quotation is similarly pertinent. High winds happen in many places (including the Santa Ana winds, the williwaws, and the devil winds in South Africa, etc.) That belongs in the article as does Guttenberg (plus other famous people) helping first responders like the fire department. Guttenberg told the fire department to get a bulldozer (which they did). So you can see shortening the quotation doesn't apply. Engage01 (talk) 17:38, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- Look at how Adolphus79 is making the article smaller. This would not be a good time to substantially change the article. Engage01 (talk) 17:41, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
- It doesn't seem like we'll come to an agreement about whether this quote should be included or not, but I would advise you to look at WP:N to get an idea about what is and isn't notable. If this was a normal resident and not a celebrity would we include it? Definitely not. And it seems like other editors agree that it should not be included. harrz talk 17:57, 10 January 2025 (UTC)

Edward Kramer disambiguation
@Harrz -- I created the Edward Kramer (disambiguation) page without knowing how to make it work. Thank you for improving it! When someone searches for Edward Kramer, I wanted that disambiguation page to come up first; but the list of responses is
- Edward Kramer Thompson
- Edward E. Kramer
- Eddie Emerson
- Edward Kramer (disambiguation)
- Edward A. Kramer
What I'd like would be
- Edward Kramer (disambiguation)
- Edward Kramer Thompson
Then there's Ed Kramer, for instance at Harlan Ellison#Support of Ed Kramer:
- "Ellison voiced strong support for Ed Kramer, founder of Dragon Con <etc.>"
where the link goes to Edward E. Kramer, which puts up the little note (hatnote?): "(Redirected from Ed Kramer)"
This should also go to the disambiguation page. I don't know how to accomplish any of these desiderata, do you? Wikipedia:Help can be too byzantine for me. Thank you for your consideration.
Larry Koenigsberg (talk) 04:57, 11 January 2025 (UTC)
- You can't change what articles come up first when you search, however for Ed Kramer you can change the redirect target to the disambiguation page by changing the link on it. I would also add the other two articles which come up (Edward Kramer Thompson and Edward Kramer Emerson) to the disambiguation page. harrz talk 15:14, 11 January 2025 (UTC)

| Thank you for helping me sort of the transliteration/translation ordeal of 2025. Iljhgtn (talk) 19:07, 14 January 2025 (UTC) |
Question already...
So I just created a R to transliteration, and is it supposed to say "Latin" script for what it is being transliterated to? I think that makes sense, but just want to be sure before I continue. This is the one فارس حمدان. Iljhgtn (talk) 19:37, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- So the transliteration text says, "To transliteration: This is a redirect from a page name in Arabic to its Latin transliteration." As opposed to "To transliteration: This is a redirect from a page name in Arabic to its English transliteration", as I thought it would. Though I think "Latin" characters makes sense.. I am just so used to dealing with R from alternative language. Iljhgtn (talk) 19:38, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, that is correct. The template automatically puts it as Latin because it is referring to the writing system (script) rather than the language, and all redirects should be to Latin-script titles per WP:TRANSLITERATE. harrz talk 19:42, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- Is it your template? I did not look back to see who created it in the history. Iljhgtn (talk) 19:43, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- No, I did not create the template, however I seem to be one of the few editors who knows of its existence lol. I'm going to edit the template's page in an attempt to make its usage clearer. harrz talk 19:46, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- Good timing. Please do and let me know when you are done with that. Also, please reduce the number of boxes/areas where you can enter information to just the language "from" since that seems to be the only one that is actually used in the template. Iljhgtn (talk) 19:47, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- Are you going to make those updates now? Just let me know when please. I would like to wait until you are done with that before I continue making transliteration redirects. Iljhgtn (talk) 20:29, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- I've just done it, sorry for the delay - it took a lot longer than I expected. harrz talk 20:47, 14 January 2025 (UTC)

- This is all making sense to me now too, I apologize for any difficulty earlier. Iljhgtn (talk) 19:43, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- Lastly, why are there so many more unused fields then that are never populated on this template? Could it be "fixed" to have all but the one that is used left? I tend to like templates which are cleaner and have less room for error or less things to mess with. Iljhgtn (talk) 19:46, 14 January 2025 (UTC)

R from alternative language template
You did well on the R to transliteration template, so well, that no good deed goes unpunished! I have long ignored the third option in the "R from alternative language" template which says "printworthy", do you know what that means? I just put the "From" and "to" language ISO codes which has always been sufficient for me. If it does not real good, or marginal use, then maybe you could go into that template and tinker with it too and remove the "Printworthy" field just to further simplify yet another template on language redirects and Rcats. Iljhgtn (talk) 21:21, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- Ah, now that one isn't as simple. I would say just ignore it as it is to do wih printability. If you want to know more I believe there is a part on the template's page which explains it. You can also look at WP:PRINTWORTHY. harrz talk 21:25, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- Ok, if it is safe to ignore it then I will look at that sometime later. Iljhgtn (talk) 21:29, 14 January 2025 (UTC)

redirect of Palisades Charter Elementary School?
Hello @Harrz, I see you redirected Palisades Charter Elementary School. I believe that since the school's administration building is listed on the City of Los Angeles Historic Places Inventory the building is notable as a result of its historic and architectural importance. This school is notable beyond the Palisades Fire. - Wil540 art (talk) 21:34, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
- I cannot find significant coverage for the school before the recent fire. This is very similar to WP:1E, and as such the school doesn't meet WP:GNG. If you disagree we can take this to AfD to get some consensus. harrz talk 21:56, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

| Hey there Harrz, I saw you recently mentioned you were working on the Tornadoes in the United Kingdom. Having worked on List of California tornadoes, I know how long that task an take, so I commend you for trying that effort. It was barely a year ago when List of Australia tornadoes was split off from its parent article, and since then so many other people have added to it. That's the thing about Wikipedia. Sometimes you don't know you've found an important thing to write about it until other people start noticing your work and adding to it. So kudos to you for working on the list, and whenever you think it's ready to publish, then please let me know so I can add it to my watchlist. May 2025
Your recent editing history at 2025 Liverpool parade incident shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. —Fortuna, imperatrix 13:50, 27 May 2025 (UTC)

My intention was simply to change "feature" to "featured" in the section about Black Mirror, and I have no idea how all that other content got deleted in the same edit. I am still inexperienced with editing, so i must have made some very bad slip to have deleted all of that! Its a good thing you caught it quickly like that.I should double check things before I commit them next time... NoSlacking (talk) 18:22, 4 June 2025 (UTC)

2025 Ballymena riot
I was editing the article 2025 Ballymena riot. In the meantime you moved it to 2025 Ballymena riots. As I hit the edit button it created a new article. The first article 2025 Ballymena riot should be deleted. Otherwise there will be two articles of same kind. Thanks. Beylarbey (talk) 20:58, 10 June 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry about that! Thanks for letting me know, I'll sort that out now. harrz talk 21:01, 10 June 2025 (UTC)

California Cup Derby
There are two references in the article for this event. What applies to all Thoroughbred race histories is the legal fact (gambling laws) that there is only one official source that applies throughout the industry and that is the Racetrack itself; in this case Santa Anita Park. Newspapers and magazines are usually referenced at Wikipedia for a single race being supplemented to the article but in fact, although not absolutely needed, that is only a confirmation of details media gets from the race track. By law, all racing publications/newspapers get their mandated racing statistics directly from the race track with the story done by reporters either at the track or watching it on TV. Kindly fix this as I hope to soon start work on the other four races that comprise California Cup Day. Thanks for your interest. Xavier Newcombe (talk) 15:49, 12 June 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry, I'm not sure what you're talking about... horseracing is not one of the topics I have contributed to on Wikipedia. harrz talk 15:57, 12 June 2025 (UTC)
Reversion Discussion
Hello!
On 2025 European heatwaves, you recently reverted my edit to include the Disasters navbox, memo stating "incorrect navbox." I could not immediately perceive why the Disasters navbox was incorrect for a heatwave, so I took a guess that it was because there were multiple applicable navboxes.
However, according to Wikipedia:A navbox on every page, articles may have several navboxes. From the Multiple navboxes section:
""
There is theoretically no limit to the number of navboxes that can be placed in a single article. There are many articles that have several. This has advantages and disadvantages.
Some advantages to having two or more navboxes on a page are:
- More links to the article from others
- More pages that it is possible to navigate to from the one on which it is placed
Disadvantages to having two or more navboxes on a page are:
- All navboxes will appear "autocollapsed," requiring them to be opened to read
- If the navboxes were created or added by different users, edit warring can occur over whose navbox is more important and therefore should be listed first
- The size of the navbox tends to increase, sometimes substantially.
- Too many navboxes can cause the page to exceed the post-expand include size limit.
""
Is there some reason why the Disasters navbox does not meet these qualifications? Or is there some other reason why Disasters should be deemed incorrect for 2025 European heatwaves?
I am a relatively inexperienced editor so I look forward to learning more about this!
Thank you for your consideration. Baltarstar (talk) 18:50, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Baltarstar, the reason I removed the navbox is because, whilst the heatwaves are a disaster, we don't place the disasters navbox on every disaster page. Instead we use the {{heat wave}} navbox because it is more specific to the topic. If you look at previous heatwaves, such as 2022 European heatwaves and 2024 North America heat waves, you'll see that it is unconventional to include this navbox. harrz talk 19:16, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
- I see.
- Am I correct in understanding that the rules on navboxes are not well codified, and that convention dictates most of it? My intuition was to include multiple navboxes, ranging from specific to broad. It sounds like you're saying most people prefer to have one navbox, ideally the most precise navbox. Anything else you think I should know about navbox conventions?
- Thank you for explaining it to me! =) Baltarstar (talk) 19:22, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, that is the case as far as I know. For most things it is fine to have two or three, just not ones that are too broad. For example, the 2022 European heatwaves article also includes the {{deadliest meteorological events in 2022}} navbox. harrz talk 19:24, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

Publishing Draft:Tornadoes in the United Kingdom
Hi there Harrz. I came across this draft, which is really impressive for a country tornado list. It's not perfect, but I see it hasn't been edited in a while, and I don't want the draft going stale. I'm sure you wouldn't let it get deleted, but I thought I'd be proactive and see if you think the draft is good enough for publishing yet. Cheers for the good work. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 20:44, 24 August 2025 (UTC)
- Hey! Thanks for the message, I've been meaning to resume working on that article. There isn't much left to add to it, so it should be ready soon. I'll send you a message when it gets published. harrz talk 19:34, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks mate. I love the idea of having tornado lists for a bunch of different areas around the world. I worked on List of California tornadoes, and then realized we could probably use similar lists, just about everywhere. For example, the List of Australia tornadoes was only made in 2024, being split off from the List of Southern Hemisphere tornadoes and tornado outbreaks, which was way too big of a list to contain all of that. And in the same spirit, the UK should have its own list separate from the rest of the European tornadoes. Not to be all Brexit here, but country-specific lists can be more useful, especially for climatology and statistics. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 22:09, 29 August 2025 (UTC)
Proposal to reverse merge of Border 2 Fire
Hello harrz. The existence of this article is justified by the importance of establishing this fire's relevance to the long fire history of the large Chaparral biome east of Chula Vista/south of Alpine, such as the Laguna Fire, the Otay Fires, and the Harris Fire, which would be too lengthy and too far out of context if explained in the umbrella article. The amount of relevant info is too lengthy to simply merge into a single paragraph on the Jan2025 SoCal fires page. It is likely to have historical value for the region. However, shortening of less historically relevant context is necessary. Epoxyresin13 (talk) 17:17, 29 August 2025 (UTC)
- If you wish to make a proposal to reverse the merge, you should do so on the talk page of January 2025 Southern California wildfires so a proper discussion can be had. I personally think everything you have said can be summarised easily within the fire's section on that page. There is no need for it to be restrained within a single paragraph like you're suggesting. harrz talk 17:24, 29 August 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you, I already did create a talk page for it on that page, though I do not specifically know how to create a proposal to reverse the merge in terms of formatting, I do not have a ton of editing experience. Epoxyresin13 (talk) 17:45, 29 August 2025 (UTC)
