edit

At the bare minimum, you need to be using a spellcheck. Punctuation goes before citations, and Wikipedia uses sentence case in things like section headers. Your edits are missing words and have incorrect verb tense ("and majority of the streets sank in or become damaged"). When every sentence you submit contains errors, you need to clean the issues up yourself, rather than asking others to do this for you.

Please read the MOS before contributing further, and practice in your sandbox. Thank you, Jessicapierce (talk) 03:07, 19 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Information icon Hello. Your recent edit to Fairfield, Montana appears to have added a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. Jessicapierce (talk) 21:23, 26 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Grizfan it is not a good idea to re-add Barta to the Fairfield article. The policy Jessica linked here says a person should already have an article before being added to the notable people list. I asked on her talkpage because I missed this thread. It is always better to ask rather than put something back that someone has deleted, especially when it is an experienced editor.--Tbennert (talk) 04:22, 27 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Flat Creek, Montana

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Flat Creek, Montana requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, as it exhibits signs of having been generated by an AI model with no clear human review. Text produced by these applications is prohibited on Wikipedia. For further information, see section G15 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think these signs were incorrectly identified and you assert that you did carefully check the content, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Additionally – if you would like to create an article but find it difficult, please ask for help at the Teahouse.

Flat Creek Article

edit

Let's run through the events from my perspective.

Yesterday, I was patrolling some newly created articles. I found one about a creek in Montana called Flat Creek. At first glance it had some formatting errors, which I began to work on and fix. However, the longer I read it, the more issues it had. Citations were odd and and language showed signs of LLM writing styles. I believed the article was, at least in part, using LLM generated content. I stated my reasoning, and marked the page for speedy deletion. It was deleted shortly after by another editor, Dr vulpes (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). I link him here because I believe he should be at least informed that this conversation is taking place. You did not respond to the deletion nomination for multiple hours, at which point the article had already been deleted. You then left a message on my talk page. The beginning of the message is reasonable, being upset that you were not given a chance to contest the deletion. However, you then delivered an ultimatum that either I restore the page (something not in my power to do) or "I will ruin your user talk page, and no one will trust you."

I'm willing to talk, even admit I made an error in marking the page for speedy deletion, but threats of harassment are quite intolerable. You cannot call for my maturity while displaying so little yourself. I understand that you are upset, I had some articles deleted in my early days on Wikipedia.

Let's resolve this and hopefully get on good terms. Minnastronomer (talk) 10:17, 27 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello again. I would first like to apologize for my mean and somewhat rude threats to you and your talk page. I really was just frustrated still when writing and I really shouldn't have wrote all.of those things. Right now, I would like to come to a peaceful end of this conflict. I was wondering if you still have like the version history of my article, and if can send it to me via email or just on my talk page. If you can't please reach back out to me regarding of others ways to recover the article, because I do not want to restart which I have already had to do many times on that article due to a computer glitch. If I could receive the article back, I would wish to improve the details of the citation and fix any formatting or spelling errors. Again, I am incredibly sorry for those rude words. As a human, I often make mistakes, especially while frustrated, and I do hope you forgive me. If you are able to recover the article in some way, send me a message via talk page or email with the whole article pasted. If you can't, I hope you and Dr. Vulpes will join me in a conversation in how to retrieve it, as I really do not want to restart on the article. Thank you
Sincerely,
Grizfan37 Grizfan37 (talk) 22:37, 27 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
I appreciate that. Head over to Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion and you should be able to make a case for your article. I don't have the power to restore your article but Admins do. Minnastronomer (talk) 01:39, 28 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the info..I will update you if I am successful or not. Grizfan37 (talk) 13:24, 28 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
With the article restored, I'm going to try doing some of the cleanup work it needs. I've just fixed some wordings and spellings so far. I think it could be in mainspace shape in a few days. If you could add some more content and sources too that would go a long ways to improving it. Minnastronomer (talk) 11:01, 29 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for what you're doing. As this is a somewhat small and rural topic, I will do.my best to find sources Grizfan37 (talk) 13:23, 30 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
I recently did some editing work on the article. I mainly fixed the sources, but I also rephrased some things as well. If you could look at it and tell me what I could imrpove on it, or if its god move it to the article space that would be great. Thanks.
@Grizfan37 Grizfan37 (talk) 01:49, 3 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I've done some more cleanup, you've improved substantially. There are a few things I think should be clarified before publishing. First, you say the creek offers 'recreational opportunities'. You specify fishing, but elaboration (ideally with sources) on what these recreational opportunities actually are would be good. Secondly, you mention in the 'Uses' section the 'Dearborn Canal and Water Company'. It is currently unclear in the wording if 'Dearborn Canal' and 'Water Company' are separate or if 'Dearborn Canal and Water Company' is the name of a company. Lastly, you mentioned Simms, Montana in the 'See also' section but it doesn't seem to be related. If Flat Creek flows through the town, then that should be mentioned in the 'Flow Course' section.
Once those are addressed, I'm willing to advocate for the article being put back into mainspace. Minnastronomer (talk) 03:44, 3 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the tips. Grizfan37 (talk) 23:25, 3 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello. The sources were either not reliable enough (Great Falls Montana Tourism, Substack) or did not discuss the subject in-depth. JTtheOG (talk) 19:41, 17 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Also, why do you end these articles with "Montana"? Are they really called "Memorial Falls Montana" and "Nilan Reservoir Montana"? JTtheOG (talk) 19:43, 17 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
The Montana is because there are other locations with the same name. Alsoo, most of those sources are reliable, and that Great Falls one is made by the city governmment website and others are not a blog and do indeed discuss the subject Grizfan37 (talk) 20:15, 17 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

I am working to resolve this. Also, I noticd that you removed the section "In the News" section due to some sort of rule, but the Choteau Montana page has a section with the exact same name. Can you explain why Fairfield's got deleted by Choteau's is still up. Grizfan37 (talk) 00:30, 18 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your response! The reason why Choteau's "In the News" section is still up is simply because it hasn't been removed yet, and even then WP:OCON applies here: just because one article has something doesn't mean another shouldn't, because that thing maybe a mistake or against consensus or so forth. Furthermore, WP:USCITIES is the guideline for the layout for United States settlement articles; in the case of Choteau's "In the News" section, all of the content in that section could more reasonably go in the History section instead, since it details events that happened at least two decades ago (and even then, a lot of it is celebrity gossip that is only tangentially relevant to Choteau). Speedrunning content

edit

@Grizfan37: I have reverted your edit in the Scientology article for the second time. My prior revert of your insertion of the same content (about Scientology speedrunning) referenced in my edit summary the policies which apply to my reasoning: "Removed content about a recent fad which is WP:UNDUE for this top-level WP:SUMMARY article."

The Scientology article is the top-level article for a whole hierarchy of daughter-articles, and is intended to be a brief summary covering most of the major topics. The speedrunning period is (was?) a short term fad. It is undue weight to mention it in the top-level article. It might be better suited in one of the other "daughter" articles where details are more relevant. Please do not continue to try to add it to the Scientology article.

Note that we recently executed a massive reorganization and trimming of the Scientology article, and are not keen on repeating the work. Per WP:ONUS, "the responsibility for achieving consensus for inclusion is on editors seeking to include disputed content".

Lastly, "moved wording" is not an appropriate edit summary for the addition of content. Please read WP:EDITSUMMARY for more information.   ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 05:01, 12 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. I was confused on your wording and did not know what you meant. Grizfan37 (talk) 13:49, 12 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
