Your submission at Articles for creation: Expulsion of Mormons from Jackson County, Missouri (November 5)

edit
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Pbritti was:
This submission does not appear to be written in the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia article. Entries should be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources. Please rewrite your submission in a more encyclopedic format. Please make sure to avoid peacock terms that promote the subject.
The comment the reviewer left was:
In addition to some neutrality concerns, there are substantial structural manual of style issues. However, this is an admirable attempt at a first article and I highly encourage building this further. I'll keep my eye on this—looking forward to approving it with some improvements.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Hi @Penultimate supper. Thank you for taking the time to review my nomination! This is an article with a rich history going back to 2004, and I am eager to collaborate with you and find ways it can be improved. Best regards. Gottagitgud (talk) 05:22, 24 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Gottagitgud: Hi! I've dived in a bit already, apologies it's taking me a bit longer to get initial comments to you than I thought, I have unexpected family visitors so my life got a bit more chaotic than expected. I'm working on reviewing citations at the minute and should have some initial comments of the article as well as a thorough citation review for you soon. It's a lovely article so far! — penultimate_supper 🚀 (talkcontribs) 13:13, 24 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi; User:Gottagitgud, would you like me to extend the hold on Talk:1838 Mormon War/GA1? I see you've been working in-depth on the article in a userspace draft—making some significant improvements—so I don't doubt the article will readily meet all the GA criteria soon. I'm happy to extend the hold for a while (maybe till 2024-12-16?) to support that work. Also, please communicate if there are any issues I raised or suggestions I made that you don't agree with; I'm just one reviewer and unless something is a major violation of the criteria, reasonable editors can have different views about what will lead to the strongest article—which is all that really matters in the end. Cheers! — penultimate_supper 🚀 (talkcontribs) 16:11, 9 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Repeated deletion of well-sourced material

A thread has been opened at WP:FTN about your recent behavior. The proper procedure is for you to self-revert your deletion and instead build a consensus for the change. Feoffer (talk) 02:29, 9 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

You're wrong on the facts. Your angry reaction is only natural, but your personal attacks are unacceptable. After the dust settles you owe Epachamo an apology. Gottagitgud (talk) 02:01, 12 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Doug Weller, thank you for reaching out, and for the reminder.
I apologize if my tone in the recent discussion has become overly strong. That was not my intent, and I will certainly be more careful to phrase my concerns in a less confrontational manner moving forward.
I do want to point out that I have consistently maintained a focus exclusively on content and sourcing, and I have never questioned the motives of any other editor.
I can confirm that the editor I have been replying to, however, made and then retracted accusations concerning my motives (specifically alleging that I am a "single-purpose account," conspiring with another user, pushing a POV, etc.).
My intention remains simply to ensure that claims in the article are supported by verifiable, high-quality sources, and I hope we can all continue the discussion on that basis. Regards. Gottagitgud (talk) 09:59, 13 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
