Wikipedia and copyright
edit
Hello Faisalisonline2! While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's eligibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § Licensing.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. MCE89 (talk) 12:35, 5 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the information. I have Removed all copyright from the project and have updated the history so it contains the basic information whilst not going too close to the actual citation. Faisalisonline2 (talk) 13:51, 5 June 2025 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Danners430. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Docklands Light Railway, but you didn't provide a reliable source. On Wikipedia, it's important that article content be verifiable. If you'd like to resubmit your change with a citation, your edit is archived in the page history. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Danners430 tweaks made 15:35, 26 November 2025 (UTC)
- For info, and this isn't a complaint but rather advice, what Wikipedia is after isn't "proof" - Wikipedia wants reliable sources to verify content. For this reason, for example, certain websites which would be perfectly legitimate proof are disallowed from being used as reliable sources. The BBC is very much not one of those, it's classed as a reliable source. But for example Flickr wouldn't be reliable, despite it being pretty obvious "proof". Again, not a complaint - just a spot of advice for your future contributions :-) Finally, please ensure you add your sources the first time you add content, so editors don't need to revert your additions to get them added. Danners430 tweaks made 15:56, 26 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Danners430 don’t worry I already added citation :) Faisalisonline2 (talk) 12:03, 7 December 2025 (UTC)

Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow, or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus, as you did to Great Northern route. This includes making page moves while a discussion remains underway. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. If you want to move a page in a non-obvious way, it is courteous to find consensus on the talk page. There are no sources calling the Great Northern route the Great Northern Service, especially not as a proper name (see MOS:NCCAPS), so it is not more precise, and it is not more concise because it is an overall longer name. - +1 to this. If @JacobTheRox had not already done so I would have definitely reverted your move. 10mmsocket (talk) 20:20, 6 December 2025 (UTC)
- I understand sorry ;( Faisalisonline2 (talk) 12:04, 7 December 2025 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at User talk:10mmsocket, you may be blocked from editing. Sugar Tax (talk) 12:00, 7 December 2025 (UTC)
Hello, I'm Danners430. I noticed that you recently made an edit to Moorgate station in which your edit summary did not appear to describe the change you made. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Danners430 tweaks made 22:34, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
Suffragette line
editI have reverted your big copy/paste to this redirect article. It should be discussed first. I suggest you take it to somewhere like Wikipedia talk:WikiProject UK Railways or Wikipedia talk:WikiProject London Transport to gain consensus.
Also, for future reference, see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia for the correct way to copy content from one article to another. It's important that content is properly attributed. Thanks. 10mmsocket (talk) 17:42, 12 April 2026 (UTC)
- I have also done the exact same thing to Lioness line. You should gain consensus for both changes. 10mmsocket (talk) 17:45, 12 April 2026 (UTC)
- Please do contribute in the new talk 10mm Wikipedia talk:WikiProject London Transport#Asking to gain consensus of editing the Lioness/Suffragette line pages with new information Faisalisonline2 (talk) 17:56, 12 April 2026 (UTC)

Hi Faisalisonline2! I noticed that you recently made an edit and marked it as "minor", but it may not have been. On Wikipedia, "minor edit" refers only to superficial edits that could never be disputed, such as fixing typos or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not minor, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. Turini2 (talk) 21:25, 12 April 2026 (UTC)
- Appreciate the feedback! Faisalisonline2 (talk) 18:10, 13 April 2026 (UTC)
