Help Needed for Madison West High School page

Hello EvergreenFir,

I need help to resolve an editing war on Madison West High School page from Etzedek24.

Parts of Etzedek24's claim of NPOV violations would be true, but deleting my entire expansion is over-editing and is disruptive. Then he claimed that I could face potential bans if I reverted the editing. So I have reverted the school's current page to your last edited version.

For more details of the situation, you may see my report to the Adminstatior Notice Board: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Incidents#Reporting_editor,_Etzedek24's_Disruptive_Editing_and_Mass_Deletion_of_Madison_West_High_School_article

I appreciate your time and energy.

Thank you,

Feather943 (talk) 02:49, 24 June 2025 (UTC)
Update: The issue has been resolved. But I thank you once more. Feather943 (talk) 04:44, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

Hey, you!

Stop reverting my edits! Don't you know I listed off every opening and short interstitial segment in the Animaniacs episode list? 2605:8D80:5B40:C51F:6DCD:DC3:C1F4:94A1 (talk) 21:27, 25 June 2025 (UTC)

I do know and it's excessive detail (WP:FANCRUFT) that is not appropriate for an encyclopedia. Please see MOS:TV for more detail on what is expected in these episode tables. EvergreenFir (talk) 21:43, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
If you create a Miraheze account for me and tell the Meta administrators to globally unlock my first three Miraheze accounts (Khalfi2008, Anon1017, and DogManFan2025), you'll let me edit the Animaniacs episode list again. 2605:8D80:5B40:C51F:6DCD:DC3:C1F4:94A1 (talk) 22:46, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
I have nothing to do with Miraheze EvergreenFir (talk) 23:19, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
Aw, come on! Three Miraheze accounts are enough, y'know? Just create a Miraheze account already and ask the meta administrators to vanish all of my sockpuppet accounts, except for my first three accounts, Khalfi2008, Anon2017, and DogManFan2025, which would be all globally unlocked! 2605:8D80:5723:3215:F0D5:38C2:4AE2:2475 (talk) 02:27, 26 June 2025 (UTC)

LTA animated show IPs

Coming to you regarding this seeing that you previously blocked 115.135.0.0/18 for a year in October. I've just reported another of these LTA ranges at AIV, 110.159.64.0/18. Just wanted to ask if you know of any case page for this at Wikipedia:Long-term abuse/List... I know I've dealt with this kind of LTA vandalism for several years, at articles such as The Casagrandes and It's Pony. I've also just had to revert List of Abby Hatcher episodes back a bit because of more LTA IP(s) of this kind. And maybe if there isn't a case page for this as of yet- maybe one should be started?... Magitroopa (talk) 04:04, 25 June 2025 (UTC)

unfortunately no, I don't know if any LTA or SPI related to this user. I wonder if Ponyo might know anything? EvergreenFir (talk) 04:58, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
Sorry, there are a number of sockmasters in the children's television realm and I don't know who these Malaysian IPs belong to specifically.-- Ponyobons mots 16:52, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
Well if there isn't one I'm unaware of, it would likely be a good idea to create one. Would make reporting future IPs/ranges at AIV a million times easier. As far as I can recall, I've been seeing these LTA vandalism edits since maybe sometime around 2019-2021?... to see that it's still ongoing, should hopefully give a sense of how widespread this is. I've just had to revert Abby Hatcher back as that vandalism has been on the article since October 2024, and even with the IP range blocked a few days later, no one ever reverted it back until now.
Just for a sampling of IPs I'm able to find right now (hahaha, why do I do this to myself?...):
...and I'm sure many others I'm missing. Based on the last three IPs I've listed, it looks like their current primary range is at 110.159.64.0/18, which it was already given a 3-month range block in March 2022 as they appear to have already been using the range then for this same LTA/vandalism (see 110.159.103.148).
As for the LTA's usual behavior/tendencies, I would say that they usually target articles of/related to animated shows, as well as associated 'List of episodes' articles, typically massively MOS:OVERLINKing names/common words throughout articles (resulting in dozens of red links and disambiguation links being added), changing episode/season table colors from code to plain word (EX: changing '#FF5F5F' to 'red'), inaccurately changing episode titles and airdates to false information, as well as inaccurately changing dates/URLs/titles of citations (EX:

Any help with all of this would definitely be greatly appreciated (although I wish I had though of having an LTA case page for this earlier on as opposed to just reverting and labelling as 'LTA' in my edit summaries... *sigh*). Magitroopa (talk) 07:36, 25 June 2025 (UTC)

More Son of Zorn

Needs at least some mass reverting:

wizzito | say hello! 23:09, 26 June 2025 (UTC)

@wizzito I blocked the most recent one. The 3rd and 4th one do not geolocate to SoZ's usual place so I'm leaving those. The first two are old, but I reverted some edits EvergreenFir (talk) 04:21, 27 June 2025 (UTC)

Just because I am an IP editor does not give you the right to ignore my request to not be templated

It also does not give you the right to remove a valid RFC and jumping to a level 3 warning is just hostile behavior outright. 135.180.128.228 (talk) 04:35, 27 June 2025 (UTC)

Read WP:RFCNEUTRAL. Level 3 is appropriate for a bad faith editor who clearly knows Wikipedia well EvergreenFir (talk) 04:39, 27 June 2025 (UTC)
@EvergreenFir "I am creating this RFC in an attempt to overturn Donald Trump's previous RFC that ended with the result that he was far right. This thread and many others like it warrant another RFC as there is a clear sizeable minority that does not believe the far right label is correct." This is what I have right now and is what I will publish if there is no dispute. Does this look WP:RFCNEUTRAL? 135.180.128.228 (talk) 04:43, 27 June 2025 (UTC)
Better than the previous one but unless you have something new to add (a new source for example), trying to open another RfC just to get a different result isn't appropriate. Please see the FAQ at the top of Talk:Donald Trump EvergreenFir (talk) 04:47, 27 June 2025 (UTC)
@EvergreenFir I published the edit, I currently have 4 sources. Please wait for me to add them. 135.180.128.228 (talk) 04:48, 27 June 2025 (UTC)
Okay. I'll not revert given that you've made an ostensible good faith effort. EvergreenFir (talk) 04:50, 27 June 2025 (UTC)
Thank you EvergreenFir. I've come up with 6 sources now from reliable sources that say Donald Trump is not far right or a fascist. 135.180.128.228 (talk) 04:52, 27 June 2025 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – August 2025

News and updates for administrators from the past month (July 2025).

Guideline and policy news

  • Following a request for comment, a new speedy deletion criterion, G15, has been enacted. It applies to pages generated by a large language model (LLM) without human review.
  • Following a request for comment, there is a new policy outlining the granting of permissions to view the IP addresses of temporary accounts. Temporary account deployment on the English Wikipedia is currently scheduled for September 2025, and editors can request access to the permission ahead of time. Admins are encouraged to keep an eye on the request page; there will likely be a flood of editors requesting the permission when they realize they can no longer see IP addresses.

Do you think 172.56.233.58 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log) is a Zorn sock? However, some of the edits being on articles for non-animated shows (e.g. this one) is throwing me for a loop. wizzito | say hello! 07:21, 10 September 2025 (UTC)

Kirk shooting suspect

I assumed that calling a BLP who hasn't been charged yet the perpetrator would be a violation of BLP, that BLP applied to talk pages, and that we should redact BLP violations. Please correct me if I am wrong on any of that. Thanks, QuicoleJR (talk) 17:29, 12 September 2025 (UTC)

Perpetrator (name) is definitely a BLP violation. Suspect (name) is less so. Suspect or perpetrator alone isn't, so I know what I'd choose. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 17:31, 12 September 2025 (UTC)
IMO, mentioning the name on the talk page along with RS is not in violation of BLP at this point. Calling him a perpetrator would be, but on a talk page there is leeway in terms of labels that are used in good faith. Once he's charged, we can move past this. Evergreen Fir I have no idea why you think I'm causing "vandalism" on a Wikipedia page because all I was doing was adding this that I know about the topic that's not on the page which isn't vandalism in my books, and to be honest "Protecting" the page because of two accounts adding and removing trivia on this topic is just an overreaction for me at least.  Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:881:8482:6CF0:240C:513A:1C1E:E2A6 (talk) 21:31, 12 October 2025 (UTC)

Would you mind page blocking an IP range?

Hello Evergreen Fir,

Recently the ANI thread which I opened up on an abusive IP editor was closed because the page was protected, however literally 3 hours later after the IP vandalized again, which was thankfully reverted by Lynch44. I think a page block from the Niccolò Machiavelli is necessary, as even with pending changes, the IP range is still being disruptive. Thanks. Plasticwonder (talk) 21:53, 13 October 2025 (UTC)

@Plasticwonder I only see two edits from the most recent IP user. That doesn't quite seem like enough to warrant a partial block. The edits themselves are disruptive but not egregiously offensive. I think just keeping the pending changes should be enough for now. If the user escalates their behavior, I would recommend reporting to WP:AIV or WP:ANI. EvergreenFir (talk) 21:59, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for the advice! Will do. :) Plasticwonder (talk) 22:00, 13 October 2025 (UTC)

Hi EvergreenFir. You recently blocked this IP Special:Contributions/2A00:23C6:F517:5E01:0:0:0:0/64. Based on their edits at Post-war consensus (identical to previous socks) and numerous celebrities, this is actually a sock of HarveyCarter, and the block ought to be indefinite. Cambial foliar❧ 17:45, 15 October 2025 (UTC)

Hello Cambial Yellowing! We do not indefinitely block IPs because it is very unlikely that the user will hold that IP indefinitely. I am happy to extend the block on the /64 range though. EvergreenFir (talk) 18:03, 15 October 2025 (UTC)

Regarding User:Trainsfan13 and User:2601:188:C405:F440:6D3B:D814:C719:8C30

@Mfield, I see that both users have been blocked, I had been following this for a while now. In the future, should I have stayed out of this, reported them? Like what is the proper action here. LuniZunie(talk) 19:21, 15 October 2025 (UTC)

Depends, but giving both warnings or messages to stop would be appropriate and, if they continue, to report them to ANI. At least that's my opinion. EvergreenFir (talk) 19:23, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
Got it, thanks! LuniZunie(talk) 19:25, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
Agreed, they should both have been warned, but the User having been just blocked for 2 weeks should already have known not to engage in another edit war hence why I blocked them for that repeat behavior and the personal attacks. User has clear ownership issues with that page. Mfield (Oi!) 19:25, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
Yeah, I added warnings (personal attacks & edit warring) to them both but wasn't sure if/where to report. LuniZunie(talk) 19:26, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
Jumping onto this thread, I wanted to bring to your attention that the IP is in fact an LTA who's been active in the area of trains for years. Original account is Dinoboyaz, and he's caught numerous blocks. He's even done cross-wiki harassment against me on Commons a few times. He geolocates to New Hampshire when he isn't using VPNs to fake his location for block evasion. One of his hallmarks is blowing up at people and then profusely apologizing later when he calms down, and sure enough here's exactly that behavior. None of this makes Trainsfan13's conduct any less sanctionable, but wanted to give you some situational awareness in case this comes up again in the future. Your reversion of an edit I made in the 'White people' article

Hi, I’ve noticed that none of my arguments on the article’s talk page have been addressed yet pertaining to me removing mention of Egyptians in the article who are irrelevant to the subject. Instead, the edit keeps getting reverted with only remarks like yours saying “This is clearly germane.” That kind of comment doesn’t address any of the points I made, which are listed in detail on the article’s talk page and I suspect people are just not as informed about Ancient Egypt as I am.

Here’s the reasoning I’ve already posted there (copied below for convenience):

The Ancient Egyptians depicted different ethnic groups, sometimes with different skin color that is reliably sourced but irrelevant to the subject of the article. There is no Egyptian text that says "white people" or "black people" or anything analogous to these terms or concepts and there is no reliable modern Egyptology source that recognize these terms or concepts in Egyptian culture, not even "white skinned" as you might find in ancient Greek writing. They have no business being in this article and it is misleading put them in. In the past images from the Egyptian Book of Gates has sometimes erroneously been called depiction of races by outdated Western authors but they did not even have a word for race. It is false and misleading. These Book of gates scenes depict four ethnic groups Nubians depicted colored black, Egyptians dark brown, West Asians (Syro-Palestinians according to scholars) a little lighter brown and Libyan berbers still lighter. None of them are even European, where racial concepts, "black" "white" and the obsolete "yellow" for East Asians and if you try to force modern racial concepts "white people", "black people" and "Asians" or nearly synonymous older race terms Caucasian, Negroids, Mongoloids it doesnt even fit the Egyptian four groups, Nubians, Egyptians, Asiatics (of the Levant) and Libyans. This is why Egyptians are not mentioned in the wikipedia article - Race (human categorization). And why here in an article particular one "race" - "white people" why are Nubians and Egyptians even mentioned, they both fit into black and brown. The "Asiatics" ( of the Levant) are also depicted brown. Even Libyans who are North African berbers who are depicted as lighter n these Book of Gates scenes a tan or yellowish color but sometimes brown in other scenes. Listen- even if you wanted to misleading use Egyptian art as depicting "White people" you would only mention Libyans, who are North African berbers are try to argue they are "White people" which is problematic and not part of their traditional culture either. This is the first sentence in the White people article

    Physical descriptions in antiquity

    According to anthropologist Nina Jablonski:

In ancient Egypt as a whole, people were not designated by color terms

Right here in the article an author is quoted and this quote is a source but it's a source not relevant to the article, and is also the reason Egypt is not mentioned in the wikipedia article: Race (human categorization).

Guide to temporary accounts

Hello, EvergreenFir. This message is being sent to remind you of significant upcoming changes regarding logged-out editing.

Starting 4 November, logged-out editors will no longer have their IP address publicly displayed. Instead, they will have a temporary account (TA) associated with their edits. Users with some extended rights like administrators and CheckUsers, as well as users with the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) user right will still be able to reveal temporary users' IP addresses and all contributions made by temporary accounts from a specific IP address or range.

How do temporary accounts work?

Editing from a temporary account
  • When a logged-out user completes an edit or a logged action for the first time, a cookie will be set in this user's browser and a temporary account tied with this cookie will be automatically created for them. This account's name will follow the pattern: ~2025-12345-67 (a tilde, year of creation, a number split into units of 5).
  • All subsequent actions by the temporary account user will be attributed to this username. The cookie will expire 90 days after its creation. As long as it exists, all edits made from this device will be attributed to this temporary account. It will be the same account even if the IP address changes, unless the user clears their cookies or uses a different device or web browser.
  • A record of the IP address used at the time of each edit will be stored for 90 days after the edit. Users with the temporary account IP viewer (TAIV) user right will be able to see the underlying IP addresses.
  • As a measure against vandalism, there are two limitations on the creation of temporary accounts:
    • There has to be a minimum of 10 minutes between subsequent temporary account creations from the same IP (or /64 range in case of IPv6).
    • There can be a maximum of 6 temporary accounts created from an IP (or /64 range) within a period of 24 hours.

Temporary account IP viewer user right

How to enable IP Reveal

Impact for administrators

  • It will be possible to block many abusers by just blocking their temporary accounts. A blocked person won't be able to create new temporary accounts quickly if the admin selects the autoblock option.
  • It will still be possible to block an IP address or IP range.
  • Temporary accounts will not be retroactively applied to contributions made before the deployment. On Special:Contributions, you will be able to see existing IP user contributions, but not new contributions made by temporary accounts on that IP address. Instead, you should use Special:IPContributions for this (see a video about IPContributions in a gallery below).

Rules about IP information disclosure

  • Publicizing an IP address gained through TAIV access is generally not allowed (e.g. ~2025-12345-67 previously edited as 192.0.2.1 or ~2025-12345-67's IP address is 192.0.2.1).
  • Publicly linking a TA to another TA is allowed if "reasonably believed to be necessary". (e.g. ~2025-12345-67 and ~2025-12345-68 are likely the same person, so I am counting their reverts together toward 3RR, but not Hey ~2025-12345-68, you did some good editing as ~2025-12345-67)
  • See Wikipedia:Temporary account IP viewer § What can and can't be said for more detailed guidelines.

Useful tools for patrollers

  • It is possible to view if a user has opted-in to view temporary account IPs via the User Info card, available in Preferences Appearance Advanced options Tick Enable the user info card
    • This feature also makes it possible for anyone to see the approximate count of temporary accounts active on the same IP address range.
  • Special:IPContributions allows viewing all edits and temporary accounts connected to a specific IP address or IP range.
  • Similarly, Special:GlobalContributions supports global search for a given temporary account's activity.
  • The auto-reveal feature (see video below) allows users with the right permissions to automatically reveal all IP addresses for a limited time window.

Social constructionism edits by student editor

Hi, EvergreenFir. Would you have a bit of time to have a look at Social constructionism, where Wiki Ed student editor Nateiac7 (talk · contribs)[noping] added 28kb in seven edits today? What I wanted to ask you about, is how much of their added content is relevant to the topic of social constructionism, and whether their choice of sources is appropriate. For example, in this edit they added section § Business ethics to the article, which talks about moral restoration. I see that this is about an aspect of human activity, but I am a little hazy where the boundaries of social constructionism are, as not every human endeavor is *about* social constructionism, right, even if it is socially constructioned as otherwise half the encyclopedia would have to be summarized here. Do you think this section is relevant here? I understand better their addition of § Senegal under § Cultural differences, that makes more sense to me there. They have some clearly good subtopic additions, such as § Gender and Roles, but our page Social construction of gender was never linked or summarized, neither was Doing gender, West & Zimmerman, Feinberg, Fausto-Sterling, Butler, or anybody I recognized. I don't know how they chose their sources were chosen (I will ask them), or whether they are at all representative. That makes me worry how sources were chosen for the other newly added sections whose topics I am less familiar with, and whether they represent their subtopics properly.

The user is a Wiki Ed student in Advanced Communication Theory at Aquinas College, and their Wiki Ed liaison in User:Ian (Wiki Ed). In fairness, although those seven edits span only 23 minutes, they developed their content beforehand, per standard Wiki Ed procedures, in various user subpages such as their */Bibliography, and especially at User:Nateiac7/Social constructionism, where it took one day to reach 27kb with 63 citations to 20 unique sources; pretty prolific. So I am somewhat concerned as well about possible LLM use, but I am not the best judge of that (maybe Asilvering?). Thanks for any help you can offer. Mathglot (talk) 02:12, 17 November 2025 (UTC)

Doesn't look like AI to me, though my AI-vision has its limits (namely, someone using AI well is much harder to catch). The real tell would be if the references end up being halluci-paraphrased (they don't look outright hallucinated). Honestly, I think this student is doing quite well. This is, frankly, much more like an encyclopedia article than most wikipedia articles. But therein lies the problem you've identified. No comment on the content itself. -- asilvering (talk) 04:55, 17 November 2025 (UTC)

Hi User:EvergreenFir. It looks like we were acting on the same AIV report at more or less the same time. I had just declined the report as the edits did not appear to be vandalism to me. While there was definitely edit warring going on, their concerns appear to be legitimate. The text they were removing was unrelated to the subject of the article and IMO may well be NPOV/UNDUE. Am I missing something? -Ad Orientem (talk) 17:05, 8 December 2025 (UTC)

@Ad Orientem Hi there! It does indeed look like were were at AIV at the same time. I blocked the user for the edit warring/DE and the fact they seemed to be a sockpuppet of HRatGBI (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). But I did remove the content as I agree with your assessment. It's certainly unarguably UNDUE. I've semi-protected the page and added it to my watchlist.
Would you like me to change any of my actions? I'm open to undoing things if you think it would be better. EvergreenFir (talk) 17:08, 8 December 2025 (UTC)
If it's a sock then no, I'd leave the block in place. If the original account wants to request an unblock, I'd be inclined to give it serious consideration. But they look like a SPA and the removal of the text probably resolves the matter. -Ad Orientem (talk) 17:12, 8 December 2025 (UTC)

Tunnels

Hi EF, I just upgraded two of your long-term anonblocks to proxy hardblocks and figured I'd drop by to tell you that if there's a VPN in the "tunnel" part of the IP info panel and you're observing disruptive behaviour there, it's clear to block those as proxies. If you don't know what I'm talking about at all, there's a setting somewhere in your preferences that enables the IP info panel on the contributions screen and you may need to turn it on (I'm fairly certain it post-dates your RFA). Would you give me a hand?

Warm regards from EvergreenFir. The reason for my request is to ask if you could monitor this page and the content that is continually being deleted from it. I find it strange that recently created accounts and IP addresses are responsible for making these edits. Thank you in advance. Sendtel + (talk) 18:30, 19 December 2025 (UTC)

New pages patrol January–February 2026 Backlog drive

January–February 2026 Backlog Drive | New pages patrol

New Pages Patrol is hosting a one-time, two-month experimental backlog drive aimed at reducing the backlog. This will be a combo drive: both articles and redirects will earn points.

  • The drive will run from 1 January to 28 February 2026.
  • The drive is divided into two phases. Participants may take part in either phase or across both phases, depending on availability.
  • Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled during the drive.
  • Two-month drive-exclusive barnstars will be awarded to eligible participants.
  • Each article review earns 1 point, while each redirect review earns 0.2 points.
  • Streak awards will be granted based on consistently meeting weekly point thresholds.
  • Barnstars will also be awarded for re-reviewing articles previously reviewed by other patrollers during the drive.
  • Interested in participating? Sign up here.
You are receiving this message because you are a New Pages Patrol reviewer. To opt out of future mailings, please remove yourself from here.

A user you just blocked

Hi, just noticed that you blocked User:Zjghhgh for vandalism. Going by their addition here (section "Request for Permanent Account and IP Ban, and Review of Deleted Content"), they might be a block evading sock of User:Marina Reddaktor who had recently posted something similar to AN/I. I don't know whether this is something worth reporting on ANI for a range block or on the sockpuppet investigation noticeboard to request a checkuser, so I'm letting you know here. Regards — Nakonana (talk) 21:29, 4 January 2026 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Hi, I just happened to be passing. Zjghhgh is just a returning pest (same as for example User:Zudjdbzj), who just happened to revert ANI to a previous revision, and is unrelated to that other account. -- zzuuzz (talk) 22:02, 4 January 2026 (UTC)

Hello! I was trying to sort out the multiple copies of the draft for F Killa recently created by (presumably) the subject at Draft talk:F Killa, Dr mohamdd1, and User:Dr mohamdd1/sandbox, and saw that you had salted the draft title. Zorn question

Would it be advisable to create an LTA page for Son of Zorn, given the repetitive behavior and constant IP hopping? I generally stay away from creating such pages nowadays, because I admittedly created some pages that really shouldn't have been made, but Zorn's socking is pretty long-term and sometimes hard to get ahold of. wizzito | say hello! 10:06, 18 January 2026 (UTC)

Agree with the indefinite. van/Van

Thanks for correcting me in Diff/1337876108, I had misread your earlier edit. I've self-reverted a later incorrect correction that I had made. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 23:15, 11 February 2026 (UTC)

@Gurkubondinn No worries! I figured it was a misreading of the diff. I've done it many times myself EvergreenFir (talk) 23:17, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
Same, still surprised at how often it happens to me. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 23:19, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
(re-using thread for convenience) Hey EvergreenFir, shouldn't Diff/1337921823 be revdel'd as well (since it contains the body of the offending section)? --Gurkubondinn (talk) 05:09, 12 February 2026 (UTC)
Nevermind, you deleted it while I was writing this. Thanks for doing this. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 05:10, 12 February 2026 (UTC)
@Gurkubondinn No prob! Thanks for your diligence EvergreenFir (talk) 05:12, 12 February 2026 (UTC)
(re-using this thread for convenience again) Should Diff/1337979636 and Diff/1337979903 also be revdel'd? Definite WP:NOTHERE behaviour, but less egregiously bad than the other ones. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 15:33, 12 February 2026 (UTC)
done EvergreenFir (talk) 16:37, 12 February 2026 (UTC)
Heads up, it's still accessible in the Permalink/1337979903 revision, and in the changset for the Diff/1337980201 edit that removed it from the page. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 16:42, 12 February 2026 (UTC)
Or in other words, I think that the revisions Diff/1337979903 (the TA adding a reply) and Diff/1337980201 (both TA edits reverted) also need to be revdel'd to remove this from the public history of the page. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 16:45, 12 February 2026 (UTC)

Is there any way around this?~2026-97099-0 (talk) 00:12, 13 February 2026 (UTC)

@~2026-97099-0 do you mean links in the references of an article? EvergreenFir (talk) 04:11, 13 February 2026 (UTC)

BLP Violation/dog whistles

Hi @EvergreenFir, can you revert this edit per WP:BLP which says Contentious material about living (or, in some cases, recently deceased) persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced—whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable—must be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion and The burden of evidence rests with the editor who adds or restores the material. It's been contested twice on the talk page as inaccurate and as a dog whistle toward the race of the defendants listed on the page. ~2026-32437-2 (talk) 05:36, 12 February 2026 (UTC)

I'm leaning toward no. It's an accurate statement and summarizes a portion of the article per WP:LEAD. The race, ethnicity, and immigration status of the defendants are indeed why the Trump administration is targeting them. If another admin thinks it should be removed, I won't contest it. EvergreenFir (talk) 05:47, 12 February 2026 (UTC)
@EvergreenFir It's not accurate though and some of the sources to support it in the body are biased opinion pieces. Some editors want it in the lead as UNDUE weight as a way to associate race with crime.
Can you self-revert on WP:BLP grounds? It's been contested so per WP:BLP policy it shouldn't be re-added until consensus is affirmed on the talk page to have it there. Thanks ~2026-32437-2 (talk) 06:10, 12 February 2026 (UTC)
Agree - it should be removed until we have a consensus. Assorted-Interests (talk) 17:35, 12 February 2026 (UTC)
@Assorted-Interests and @~2026-32437-2 - the content was added December 6 and remained unchallenged until ~2026-32437-2 removed it on January 28 for the first time. That same day ToBeFree semi-protected the article. It was then edit warred over the following 14 days.
The comment itself is not a BLP violation and is factually accurate. Further, it adheres to WP:LEAD and is stated in a neutral tone. There is no reason to remove it other than certain editors' preference. If you want to assess consensus, use the talk page. If edit warring continues after the full protection expires, I will block people. EvergreenFir (talk) 04:20, 13 February 2026 (UTC)
(Please do, without asking me, especially in cases where such a block was already placed by me and then taken back in the hope that it wouldn't continue. Most of the participants had already received a block for edit warring when the protection came, and that was too early from me. If it really continues after the full protection, please restore my blocks on those who continue.) ~ ToBeFree (talk) 15:14, 13 February 2026 (UTC)
@ToBeFree I didn't realize you'd unblocked! Thank you for the info and permission. EvergreenFir (talk) 17:04, 13 February 2026 (UTC)
@Assorted-Interests, I find it frustrating that you have shown up here to argue for this sentence's removal instead of contributing to the article's talk page, which you have never edited. Discussion is how we reach consensus on Wikipedia. —Ganesha811 (talk) 17:09, 13 February 2026 (UTC)

Talk page protection

I, preferably, would rather not have my talk page protected for a number of reasons I can't say publicly. Given that no revdels occurred (which is the typical reason that an admin has wanted to protect my talk page), is it possible to get it unprotected, or at least, not protected for an entire week. I personally could not care less about the LTAs, but if it is causing too much disruption for others, then yeah, makes sense to protect the page, but I just wanted to both see about getting a reduction in time and maybe get some reasoning for future reference. Cheers! LuniZunie(talk) 03:54, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

@LuniZunie sure I can remove it. I had seen the majority of the most recent edits were harassment so I protected it. But it's your talk page :) EvergreenFir (talk) 03:56, 16 February 2026 (UTC)
