Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Think Think and Ah Tsai, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 08:16, 28 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Think Think and Ah Tsai

edit

I undid your edit as it was wp:synthesis. You would need to cite a source drawing such a conclusion. Jim1138 (talk) 08:33, 28 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

I understand, I was mistaken about Wikipedia. My bad! Thank you for your time. EnTerbury (talk) 08:40, 28 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

References

edit

Adding references is how we ensure that content is valid. Without references, a reader can not easily validate information and there is no presumption of accuracy. See Help:Referencing for beginners and Help:footnotes. This is covered by the Wikipedia policy of wp:verifiability (WP:V). Please wp:cite your edits with wp:reliable sources (RS). Per WP:V unsourced content can be removed. Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 08:33, 28 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Think Think and Ah Tsai

edit

Hi, I have reverted your recent change at Think Think and Ah Tsai. The source you have cited, from Newsweek, talks about Kawaii culture in relation to several countries, but not Mainland China. merlinVtwelve (talk) 20:40, 2 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Just a reminder

edit

I've reverted your edit regarding the name of Manchuria. Just a reminder that Baidu Baike might not be the best source around. That's all! Thank you for your constructive edits! Javert2113 (Let's chat!) 03:37, 11 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the link; I fail to see, however, how it's connected to my edit. Although I wouldn't use BDBK for my own research, the name of the article itself is a reliable source for the usage of the term in the PRC. Even more so, it is proof that your link and argument are not applicable, as the name of the corresponding article here on WP is simply 满洲国. Moreover, we're arguing not on Manchuria but Manchukuo. Got it? EnTerbury (talk) 04:01, 11 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Chinese punctuation: Usage of the 隔音符號

There is no such thing as pinyin written as 'bin'gan' (except as an error), just like there's no such thing as He'nan 河南 even though henan might conceivably be 'he nan' or 'hen an' 很暗. The rule is, and always has been, that the syllable dividing mark is used before a syllable starting with a vowel (a, o, or e) in a multiple-syllable word when the syllable does not start the word. Hey arsehole. I tried to repost WITH a source like you said for I felt bad for losing my temper with you. but this Keith D freak wouldnt let it happen. You morons have WAY too much power. unsigned comment by 75.71.203.84 03:27, 3 April 2020 (UTC) Reply

We don't have any power, on Wikipedia, if you allow, truth has power. And rightly so. Your "source" included an obvious copy from Wikipedia itself, in other words quoting that constitutes circular reasoning. Moreover, it's still irrelevant, because I know Japanese. Keith didn't do the autocratic thing, he did the rational thing. If you want me to explain something specific just ask. You can't convince me you felt bad about losing your temper when you just did it again. Happy life.
@Jéské Couriano: Thanks, but I have no problem with those words appearing here. Is there a way I can stop edit revision on here? EnTerbury (talk) 03:50, 3 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

GeoGuessr World Cup 2023 moved to draftspace

edit

Thanks for your contributions to GeoGuessr World Cup 2023. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and none of the current references are reliable, third party, independent sources.. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. – Pbrks (t·c) 20:04, 3 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thank you for contributing a new article to Wikipedia. I noticed that the majority of the sources that you cited in the article were Chinese blogs or self-published sources (including, for example, two dead Baidu links), and/or the autobiographies. Normally this would raise issues with notability as well but I'm pretty sure given her ties with Mao that she is going to be notable anyways, so I haven't added any tags in that regard, but if it were possible to add some more substantial sources from actual news outlets, that would greatly improve the article.

Relatedly, there is a BDP concern where the article is using said blogs as sources to make somewhat contentious claims about people (such as whether marriage was forced, her role in the Cultural Revolution, the fate of her children (are they still living? If so the entire last section is a BLP issue)) which I'm not fully comfortable about; I'm going to go to sleep at the moment so won't be making any edits in the short term but just raising this to let you have a crack at it first. Fermiboson (talk) 00:08, 1 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

hi there, i dont plan to work on the article anymore except perhaps the minor ce stuff i usually do, so feel free to do what you feel like! ps: what does it mean that the page has been reviewed? i received a notification "from you" EnTerbury (talk) 18:02, 1 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Fair enough, will review later. Page review means that it doesn't show up on the new page patrol queue and that it passes the basic encyclopaedic principles, most notably notability and verifiability. Fermiboson (talk) 19:11, 1 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
im sorry, i didnt realise the article wasnt/isnt allowed to stand under the policies you mentioned and didnt catch the hint, i'll try not to make the same mistake again. cheers EnTerbury (talk) 12:48, 6 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
