Fish Fry!

Thanks for all the trout! Now I have enough to invite all my friends over for a fish fry!

Don't take this too seriously, as I don't take any of your trouts seriously.

Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.
Thanks for welcoming me! I'm also grateful for the tutorial. I'll take my time to adjust and try my best countering vandalism efforts. Signing out,

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Discovery Kids (Latin American TV channel), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Eyewitness. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ  Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

I appreciate you for telling me about it, DPI bot! Thanks! I was just reverting an edit though, no worries!

Information icon Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Alternatively, it is easier to use programs such as RedWarn which I highly recommend as it makes reverting vandalism very easy and efficient. -- Cosmic6811 🍁 (T · C) 20:34, 11 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your anti-vandalism work and free to let me know if you have any questions or need help with anything. -- Cosmic6811 🍁 (T · C) 20:38, 11 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Don't mention it, always happy to help! I will message you if I do have any other questions, once more, thank you so much! EepTheMeep (talk) 22:48, 11 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi! Thank you for the advice. I'll use the templates when necessary and I appreciate the redirects. Unfortunately I cannot use RedWarn though, the issue I have yet to find. Do you have any other recommendations, fellow editor? I'm on mobile though, which can change things.
EepTheMeep (talk) 22:47, 11 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ah I see. I don't edit on mobile so unfortunately I don't think I can offer any other better suited recommendations sorry -- Cosmic6811 🍁 (T · C) 22:55, 11 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
I appreciate the reply nevertheless, Cosmic. Will figure out solutions if I do happen to have free time.
I'll see you until then,

Hey Eep! I saw you reverted over at Alexis Texas - it's best to report people like that to AIV. jellyfish  03:21, 12 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi Jelly! Thank you for your assistance on that page and for the advice, I really appreciate it. I'll make sure to do that next time when I do see someone like that.
EepTheMeep (talk) 03:31, 12 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Of course! I see above you're having problems with RedWarn - Ultraviolet is probably your next best bet, as is Twinkle. I use Twinkle & Ultraviolet. jellyfish  03:32, 12 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the input! I downloaded Twinkle, yet for some particular reason, I can't do the same with Ultraviolet. Thank you though.
EepTheMeep (talk) 03:51, 12 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
I'll try to learn how to use Twinkle, take care Jelly!
See you around!

Warning templates as reply

edit

Please make sure when you place warning templates on pages that you don't put a : before the warning, as it will indent and mark it as a reply to (in this case) another warning notice. This can break automated warning level selection in some tools. Aside from this, you aren't really replying to the existing warning or an existing message, but simply adding it to the user talk page in general as a notice, so formatting it as a reply to existing talk page content doesn't really make sense.  💬 18:42, 15 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

the colon I am talking about that marks it as a reply  💬 18:44, 15 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hey there! Sorry about that, I clicked too quickly so Twinkle got removed and I wasn't able to properly warn. I'll keep that in mind for next time, thank you for the notice.
EepTheMeep (talk) 18:46, 15 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
No problem! I just wanted to make sure you were aware that it was happening. Most likely was from clicking the reply button instead of edit source.  💬 18:51, 15 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
My bad! I'm not too acquainted with reading wikitext and mostly use visual for both reading and editing, so I thought clicking the reply option was the only way to warn a vandalizer and it wouldn't ping others. I'll have to figure out how it works though. See you! EepTheMeep (talk) 19:00, 15 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Be careful indenting templates

edit

Thank you for spreading Wikilove. I noticed your edit of 21:31, 23 December 2024 (UTC) of User talk:Pettylittlething includedReply

::{{WikiLove templates|state=collapsed}}

which generated a Multiline table in list lint error and an indent leak to the end of the page. This happens a lot with table-based templates. If in doubt, put something such as "foobar" on a blank line at the end, click on Show Preview, and if "foobar" isn't all the way to the left, you have an indent leak. Of course, if you do this test, remove the "foobar" before saving! Cheers, —Anomalocaris (talk) 22:39, 23 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi there! Thank you for the explanation. I didn't notice that since I had copied the template directly, but I'll try to be more mindful of it!
See you!

ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:00, 18 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
