Edit summaries

edit

Please keep in mind that edit summaries should quickly state, in as few words as possible, what change you're making and why (if the reason is not immediately obvious). You do not need to specify to other editors that you're editing with good intentions, as editors here must already be assuming good faith, and it makes for a very wordy and distracting summary. For example, instead of I added the score of Opencritic. I'm not a expert in edit this zone, but I do my best effort to do this I hope that that you understand that I don't have bad intentions. If I make some mistake editing this please fix it, I would be very grateful. just adding Opencritic score is enough. Thank you! ThomasO1989 (talk) 01:22, 26 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I wanted to make sure you're reading the hidden notes, because you don't appear to be following them. The note says:

To list names here, we must follow WP:V and WP:INFOBOXPURPOSE. That means a reliable source directly placed in the article, and a mention in the body. Otherwise it will be removed.

Please make sure you read those links and follow them. WP:V says that we need content to be supported by reliable sources. See WP:REFB if you need help with that. Its not good enough to just say "its in the game" in edit summaries. And you can't use other wikis as a source due to WP:USERG.

Additionally, INFOBOXPURPOSE is basically saying, content in infoboxes should be present in the article body as well. Its not just a dumping ground for credits, its supposed to summarize what's in the article.

Please let me know if you have further questions, but please discuss rather than continuing to revert without addressing the note. Thank you. Sergecross73 msg me 21:19, 11 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

I cannot found a official entry of Nintendo when the composers are mentioned. How you want that I help you if I cannot find any official source that confirm this? EduardBS22 (talk) 21:58, 11 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Generally speaking, if you can't find a source, it isn't added to an article. Sergecross73 msg me 02:00, 12 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
Another reminder - saying "I saw it in the credits" in an edit summary" is not following WP:V. Continually adding unsourced content puts you at risk of getting your account temporarily blocked, so please don't just ignore this... Sergecross73 msg me 19:43, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Dearest Sergecross73. I added this content to the article of Mario Strikers Battle League Football not for annoy you and the other members of wikipedia, I added it because this information is true. I you believe that I lying, I invite you to search in Youtube a video that shows the credits of the videogame to see with your own eyes that I say the true.
Ah, and base the content of wikipedia only with information of sources that can be demonstrated in another way seems me very rudimentary for say it with education.
This is all thanks have a nice day,
Eduard Beltran Serra. EduardBS22 (talk) 20:17, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
I write "If you believe" with a "I". Sorry,
EduardBS22 (talk) 20:20, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Please see WP:BURDEN. It's your responsibility to provide sources for the edits you want to make. Final warning. If you make one more unsourced addition to Wikipedia, your account will be temporarily blocked from editing. Sergecross73 msg me 20:24, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
And I provide sources saying from what places I found the information that I write. If is necessary I show sometimes links with the web pages of the source where I found it.
And as for blocking me, I don't think there's any need to go to such extremes. I'm here to help; I'm not, nor do I intend to be, your enemy. EduardBS22 (talk) 21:03, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
I've already explained this. Writing where you saw something in an edit summary is not good enough. Re-read WP:V and WP:REFB. That's what you need to follow. Sergecross73 msg me 21:32, 14 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Mai's bust

edit

Just letting you know I rolled that back, but it's more because "very" can be claimed to be a bit subjective and will get called out by other editors. I won't lie the edit summary was a bit odd too. But either way, it's a case of keeping it simple and letting stuff like measurement numbers do the actual 'size' talking. Kung Fu Man (talk) 10:16, 26 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

But I don't do nothing wrong. May has the breasts very large, she doesn't have the breasts only large. The breast ptosis don't show the true size of his breasts. How I can do to include the text that I wrote before with your permission? EduardBS22 (talk) 10:23, 26 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
I just wouldn't. We already cover further down in the reception that a lot of artists draw her a bit more endowed than her numbers actually indicate, I feel that's enough to give people the idea.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 15:26, 26 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Blocked

edit

For repeatedly adding unsourced content to Wikipedia despite repeated warnings, your accounts is temporarily blocked for 3 days. When you return, please make sure you adding a reliable source every time you add/change content to Wikipedia. As repeatedly explained to you, adding that you saw something in an edit summary is not enough and does not count as adding a reliable source. Sergecross73 msg me 13:45, 16 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Serge, why you block me again? This time I haven't done anything. EduardBS22 (talk) 17:50, 21 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Dearest user of Wikipedia, I know perfectly who I'm doing. My last edition for this article wasn't unsorcered I give you a link of MobyGames where it can be seen perfectly that Alex Lacaimore didn't work in the video game and if you show the credits of the video game you can see that all information writted in MobyGames is true, because they literally write the full credits of the video games in her web page. Blocked 2

edit

I just blocked you for making unsourced edits, and you've done it again here. I'm really quite concerned, as I can't seem to get through to you that describing what you see and putting it in edit summaries does not count as adding sources. I'm also concerned you thought it was appropriate to write that all. Even with a source, that addition doesn't make any sort of sense in the opening sentence of that article.

Your account is blocked for 2 weeks. Please take this time to thoroughly study WP:V and WP:RS. Sergecross73 msg me 17:50, 21 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Ok, If you don't want that I edit this tipe of content with changes like that ok, I will never do again althought sometimes IMBd write incorrect information. But please, unblock me I didn't do with bad intentions. EduardBS22 (talk) 17:55, 21 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

OpenCritic scores

edit

Hi, whenever you update the OpenCritic score, make sure to also update the access-date parameter on the source. The new score is not what it was on the previous access-date. Also make sure to update the number of reviewers in the prose as that's what changes the score. JDC808 21:48, 4 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

I don't know how to do the first. The second I can do it perfectly. EduardBS22 (talk) 21:52, 4 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
When you click to edit, right by the OC score, there's a source. Within that source template is a parameter called "access-date". All you have to do is change that date to whatever the date is when you update the score. JDC808 08:08, 8 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Mobygames

edit

See WP:VG/S. It's not considered a reliable source. Do not use that as a source any further. Sergecross73 msg me 22:35, 4 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Why MobyGames isn't a reliable source if it isn't another wiki and they literally write the full credits of the videogames?
Please, explains with your own words. EduardBS22 (talk) 08:56, 5 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
It violates WP:USERG. Sergecross73 msg me 13:25, 5 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Ok. Which websites with information about the people who work in the videogames can you recommend me to use like sources? EduardBS22 (talk) 13:53, 5 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
WP:VG/S has a massive list of video game related websites that are deemed usable or unusable. There's also WP:RSP, but they're more general sources. Sergecross73 msg me 14:38, 5 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi EduardBS22! Just to clarify, we can't usually use plot summaries or video game premises copied from other sources, including from a game's Steam page. You'd need to instead write a summary of the game's premise in your own words. If that's unclear or if you have any questions, please just let me know. Thanks!
