In this edit to the article on the Al Jazeera Media Network you changed "was appointed as the director general of ..." to "was appointed the director general of ...".

I can see that "was appointed as the director general of ..." is natural English. And I can see that "was appointed director general of ..." is also natural English. But I am not convinced that deleting the "as" works unless you also delete the "the".-- Toddy1 (talk) 07:00, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
