Managing a conflict of interest
edit
Hello, DWFulks. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Indianapolis Museum of Art, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 81.2.123.64 (talk) 20:34, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
Please note this warning regarding Conflict of Interest. Continuing to edit in the manner you are without disclosing your conflict can result in being blocked from editing. -- Cerebral726 (talk) 21:38, 13 February 2025 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Tacyarg. I noticed that you recently removed content from Indianapolis Museum of Art without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. - Hello, I work for Newfields and am updating the page to reflect accuracy in the brand. If those changes could be put into place it would be very much appreciated. In addition, we need to update the name of the Indianapolis Museum of Art page to The Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields. Can you help to get that done please? DWFulks (talk) 15:37, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
- Names for articles are chosen by a number of conventions, found here: WP:Naming conventions. Typically the Wikipedia:Official names are not given as much weight as recognizable, common names. Therefore, I would discourage you from editing Wikipedia to try to promote your brand accuracy. Cerebral726 (talk) 14:12, 24 February 2025 (UTC)
