Please be sure when you add text that it is cited
editeg I reverted you at Roman von Ungern-Sternberg for adding uncited and probably in part original research. Doug Weller talk 10:10, 27 March 2025 (UTC)
- Citations for the reference "Baron Sternberg" is particuarly common in references (especially public references, i.e. through newspapers)to his person contemporary to his existence. Examples are as follows that have been confirmed to specifically refer to Roman von Ungern-Sternberg in opposition to his many relatives who at the time were often also dignitaries but in other international spheres:
- https://timesmachine.nytimes.com/timesmachine/1921/09/20/98755974.html?pageNumber=15 (excised here if you are unable to read it: https://timesmachine.nytimes.com/timesmachine/1921/09/20/98755974.pdf?pdf_redirect=true&ip=0)
- https://timesmachine.nytimes.com/timesmachine/1920/07/09/102868805.html?pageNumber=2 (excised here if you are unable to read it: https://timesmachine.nytimes.com/timesmachine/1920/07/09/102868805.pdf?pdf_redirect=true&ip=0)
- https://timesmachine.nytimes.com/timesmachine/1920/10/11/103480968.html?pageNumber=8 (excised here if you are unable to read it: https://timesmachine.nytimes.com/timesmachine/1920/10/11/103480968.pdf?pdf_redirect=true&ip=0)
- This form of reference seems to also be due to a common practice to refer to double-barreled noble names by the last portion of that name, or the last portion of the name in combination with the immediately preceding forename, if that person does not have a preferred (i.e. regnal) forename. Hello, I'm ClaudineChionh. I noticed that you have been adding short descriptions to articles. However, the short descriptions you added are too long to be effective, such as at Portugal during World War II. The guideline is that short descriptions should ideally be under 40 characters long, and no longer than needed. For more information, see the short description guidelines. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you. ClaudineChionh (she/her · talk · email · global) 21:29, 23 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hello @ClaudineChionh; thank you for letting me know. I'll try to keep them shorter. Chat-qui-Aboie (talk) 21:32, 23 March 2026 (UTC)
