ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:52, 18 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Welcome!

edit

Hi CBum 6! I noticed your contributions and wanted to welcome you to the Wikipedia community. I hope you like it here and decide to stay.

I've noticed that you've expressed an interest in South Asian topics. Unfortunately, due to a history of conflict and disruptive editing it has been designated a contentious topic and is subject to some strict rules.

The rule that affects you most as a new or IP editor is the prohibition on making any edit related to Indian military history or castes, political parties, and social groups in South Asia, which includes discussing articles on talk pages, unless you are logged into an account that is at least 30 days old and has made at least 500 edits.

This prohibition is broadly construed, so it includes edits such as adding the reaction of a public figure concerning a historical conflict to their article, discussing which caste a person may or may not belong to, or noting the position of a company or organization as it relates a political party.

The exception to this rule is that you may request a specific change to an article on the talk page of that article or at this page. Please ensure that your requested edit complies with our neutral point of view and reliable sourcing policies, and if the edit is about a living person our policies on biographies of living people as well.

Any edits you make contrary to these rules are likely to be reverted, and repeated violations can lead to you being blocked from editing.

The restrictions on editing South Asian topics recently became more onerous than the original notice at the top of this page. As a non-extended-confirmed editor, you now cannot make any edit related to these topics, which, as stated in the above notice "includes discussing articles on talk pages". I have, therefore, had to redact your recent edits at Talk:2025 India–Pakistan conflict. Please don't shoot the messenger. Best wishes. - Arjayay (talk) 18:53, 27 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I would like to request an unblock. I understand the importance of following Wikipedia’s policies and maintaining a constructive editing environment.

I believe this block may have resulted from a misunderstanding during content discussions. I made an edit request on the talk page, supported by a reliable source (Reuters), with the intention of improving the article’s neutrality. However, my request was repeatedly denied without clear reasoning, which led to frustration on my part.

There were also prior disagreements with that editor(I don't wanna name him) regarding sources like I had raised concerns about the inclusion of a source that appeared opinion-based (Tricontinental), which was later removed by other neutral editors in the India in Iran war 2026. My intention in all such cases has been to ensure that articles remain neutral, well-sourced, and aligned with Wikipedia’s content policies.

I would like to clarify that I am not here to push any agenda or propaganda. My goal is to contribute constructively and help improve the neutrality and quality of articles. If my behavior came across as inappropriate or disruptive at any point, I sincerely apologize.

If unblocked, I will strictly adhere to Wikipedia’s guidelines, remain civil in discussions, and seek consensus more carefully before making or pursuing changes.

Thank you for your time and consideration. CBum 6 (talk) 09:29, 12 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

This unblock request appears to have been written by a chatbot using a large language model. The purpose of unblock requests is to determine whether you, the human operating this account, understand why you were blocked – not to test a chatbot's ability to tell us what we want to hear. A message written (or rewritten) by a chatbot can also cause you to sound like you're making empty promises. It is better to write the unblock request yourself. Please read through the guide to appealing blocks for more help. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 15:01, 12 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Hi, I am writing this because I have realized that I handled things the wrong way. I had a disagreement over an edit request in "India in the 2026 Iran war" where I provided every single detail and also attached the reliable source that is from the Reuters but a specific editor( I don't wanna name him) was constantly targetting me for some personal reason for a quite long time and that is why I requested for another edit request cuz I wanted some neutral editor to review my request not him.

Tbh, I have had some previous disagreement with this specific editor before this matter too over his biased sources in that same article (you can check out in the history in that page regarding tricontinental source, fortunately other editors caught this biased editing and eventually removed it citing it's not reliable and after that he constantly started targetting me) I swear I’m not here to push any agenda or to win an argument. I just genuinely want the articles to stay neutral not just full of negativity. I see now that getting frustrated and disruptive was the worst way to go about it.

If I’m allowed back, I’m going to stay out of this and I will follow the rules, and won't repeat this mistake again. I have learned from this and I sincerely apologize for my mistake. Thank you!! CBum 6 (talk) 15:49, 12 April 2026 (UTC)}Reply

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been pending for more than two weeks with no response to questions raised during that time. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially address these questions.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. * Pppery * it has begun... 02:49, 1 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
