MLB Hits Leaders (Players with 2,000 Hits or More
editHey Bud. 2,000 hits means 2,000 hits. Please stop deleting rows. Thanks. Banueloschris (talk) 04:19, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hey Bud, I noticed on the all time Games Started list, you inflated Kershaw's starts by 3 games. There is a difference between games pitched and games started. You can tell because when you look at career stats, games pitched will be labeled as a G and games started will be labeled as GS. I had to clean up your error. Just so you know. Please stop inflating stats. Thanks. Banueloschris (talk) 01:09, 27 June 2025 (UTC)
Managerial win list
editThanks for updating the managerial list. However, there were a few small fixes I had to clean up just now: the date in the header and the syntax for Bud Black catching Tom Kelly. It may be easier if you let me update the page each day so we don't have these syntax mop ups every few days when we cross each other's edits. Thanks! Dralwik|Have a Chat 09:18, 18 May 2024 (UTC)

MLB updates
editHowdy. Just some friendly advice. When you update during a MLB playoff game. It's best not to use words like "...now" or other such present-time words. It reads odd, as the game is ongoing. GoodDay (talk) 02:51, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
Career batting averages
editHi, I saw you reverted the large deletion made by an anonymous editor at List of Major League Baseball career batting average leaders. While I agree that the changes that editor made were not appropriate, there appears to be a sourcing issue with the current content, as neither Baseball Reference (here) nor Baseball Almanac (here) recognize Josh Gibson as the all-time leader in batting average. I believe it's because he falls short of the 3000 AB minimum used by Baseball Reference, and he falls short of the 1000 Games Played minimum used by Baseball Almanac. I don't see a source for the criteria specified in the Wikipedia list: "For Negro League players, the minimum is set at 1,800 at-bats, or 5,000 at-bats combining both Negro League and AL/NL appearances." Maybe there is one... if so it should be added to the article, else there is potential for an objection on the grounds of WP:OR. The cited report by Anthony Castrovince here stated that Gibson "is now MLB’s all-time leader in batting average, slugging percentage and OPS and holds the all-time single-season records in each of those categories" but the lack of a reliably-sourced list cited by the article that actually shows Gibson atop the career batting average list is a concern. I'm happy to dig further to see what sourcing may be available, but I also wanted to reach out to you in case you might have already looked at this. Dmoore5556 (talk) 20:40, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
Wikilinks in tables
editHi - the general convention in tables is only to wikilink the first occurrence of a term when the table is non-sortable. In sortable tables, wikilinks are repeated (such as to home run) as the "first" occurrence of term will change, depending on how the table gets sorted. Dmoore5556 (talk) 04:34, 28 January 2025 (UTC)

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. I may be incorrect about the assumption of vandalism, all I saw was that the numbers before were one thing and then you changed them. If these were faithful edits, you may revert them, I do not mean any harm. ExplorerofSpace (talk) 03:50, 8 May 2025 (UTC)

- The edit that I did on Simeon Woods Richardson's article before you undid my revision was 100% base on Richardson's MLB stats on MLB.com via today's date. To me, that edit that I did was a complete and honest edit and it was not vandalism at all. I hope you accept my reason and hope that everything is all right for both me and for you. Thank you and enjoy your evening BaseballFanatic1 (talk) 04:11, 8 May 2025 (UTC)

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed maintenance templates from Riley Greene. When removing a maintenance template, please either ensure that the problem that the template refers to has been resolved, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as this change has been reverted. Take a look at getting started to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. The discussion re: hits is still ongoing. —Bagumba (talk) 12:24, 17 June 2025 (UTC)
- Please also pause from adding "hits" to more pages, like your edit to Tatis Jr., while the discussion is ongoing. Thanks. —Bagumba (talk) 13:02, 17 June 2025 (UTC)
- @Bagumba: fyi, BaseballFanatic1 is not honoring the above request , , . LEPRICAVARK (talk) 13:29, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
I'd rather not have to spend time cobbling together diffs to take you to ANI, so I'm going to ask you one last time to refrain from making edits like these (, , ) before the discussion at WT:MLB has been resolved. Your edits are especially problematic given that nobody in that discussion besides you is in favor of the edits that you are making, so you are editing against an emerging consensus. In fact, as the discussion has progressed, several editors have supported raising the minimum much higher than either of us would like. As I said above, I would rather not do the paperwork required to take you to a noticeboard, but that will be the next step if you continue. LEPRICAVARK (talk) 22:45, 25 June 2025 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Salvador Perez. When you were adding content to the page, you added duplicate arguments to a template which can cause issues with how the template is rendered. In the future, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find these errors as they will display in yellow at the top of the page. Thanks. Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at List of Major League Baseball career games played as a center fielder leaders, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. - I took all that info out because Baseball Reference only show the Top 400 Players of Career Leaders & Records for Def. Games as CF (s.1901) and that is the main reason why I delete all of that info out in the first place. BaseballFanatic1 (talk) 23:53, 24 September 2025 (UTC)

The NYY 1st year was 1901 as the Baltimore Orioles
editI do not understand why You have the NYY 1st year as 1903, when this team started as the Baltimore Orioles in 1901- relocated to NYC becoming the Highlanders in 1903. The current Baltimore Orioles, started in 1901 as the Milwaukee Brewers prior to relocating in 1902 to become the St.Louis Browns. So the current NYY started in 1901 . ~2026-24029-91 (talk) 11:03, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
