A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Associació Òpera Popular de Barcelona/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

“Responding to G11 tag, draft is awaiting move to Draft:”
editHello, and thank you for the notice.
I fully understand the concern about promotional content in userspace. In this case, the page was only intended as a draft for Article for Creation (AfC), following Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines because the subject is related to my username.
I have already submitted a request at the Village Pump (technical) asking for the draft to be moved out of my userspace and into the Draft namespace, where it can be properly reviewed by independent editors: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Village_pump_(technical)
Please do not delete the draft while the move request is pending, as this would result in loss of the AfC submission and disrupt the review process.
Thank you very much for your help and understanding. Associació Òpera Popular de Barcelona (talk) 08:39, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
- @Associació Òpera Popular de Barcelona, Paucabot, and ProClasher97: Hello all. I can see that ca:Òpera Popular de Barcelona has been deleted on 1 Dec 2025 (by an admin there ) for the same reason as it has been tagged for here on en.wp. First thing to do, Associació Òpera Popular de Barcelona is to request a change of username, right now. Anything else should happen after that. Peter in Australia aka Shirt58 (talk) 🦘 09:02, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for your guidance. I have already submitted the request for a global rename to a personal, non-organizational username, as advised. I will wait for the rename to be completed before taking any further action. Thank you again for your help. Associació Òpera Popular de Barcelona (talk) 09:33, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

Hello CristinaRaventos. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:CristinaRaventos. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=CristinaRaventos|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 10:13, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
You should use the Article Wizard to create and submit a draft for an independent review. Be advised that Wikipedia is not a place for an organization to tell about itself and its activities. A Wikipedia article about an organization must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the organization, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable organization. To do this, you need to set aside everything you know about your organization and all materials it puts out(like interviews, press releases, and mere annoucements of activities) and limit yourself to summarizing what others have said. This is usually very, very difficult for people in your position to do. Most do not succeed. Are you the rare person who can? Possibly, but the odds are against it. Please read WP:BOSS and show it to your colleagues and superiors. Our articles are typically written by independent editors wholly unconnected with the subject, who take note of coverage in sources and choose to write about it. Organizations trying to force the issue and do it themselves don't usually succeed. If you wish to try despite this cautioning, you may. 331dot (talk) 10:18, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for your message. I can confirm that I am not being paid or compensated in any way for editing Wikipedia, nor do I receive any financial benefit for contributing about this topic. I am acting in good faith as a volunteer and I fully understand the COI and paid editing policies. I will not make any direct edits to articles. If needed, I will only propose neutral changes on talk pages and I will follow the Articles for Creation process as recommended. Thank you for your guidance. - Are you employed by the Opera? 331dot (talk) 10:59, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, I am the artistic administrator of Òpera Popular de Barcelona. My role involves helping the organization function properly, but I am not paid or instructed to edit Wikipedia. I do not receive any compensation for contributing here. Any participation I have on Wikipedia is voluntary and done in good faith. I understand the COI and paid-editing policies, and I will not make direct edits to articles. I will only propose neutral changes on talk pages and follow the AfC process as advised. Thank you for your guidance. CristinaRaventos (talk) 11:12, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
- Your general salary is sufficient to make you a paid editor, it does not require specific payment for editing or specific instructions to edit. You must make the paid editing disclosure. You have described the correct procedure to contribute, but you must disclose as well. 331dot (talk) 11:29, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the clarification. I need to specify that I do not receive any salary, compensation, or financial benefit of any kind from Òpera Popular de Barcelona for my role. My position as artistic administrator is entirely voluntary and unpaid. Only the professional artists involved in the productions are compensated. Since I am not remunerated by the organization, and certainly not for editing Wikipedia, I understand that this means I am not considered a paid editor under the Terms of Use. Please let me know if any further clarification is needed, and I will of course continue to follow COI and AfC procedures as advised. ~2025-37717-39 (talk) 11:44, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
- Remember to log in when posting. I asked you if you were employed, and you said yes- but if your work with the opera is just something you do in your free time and you get nothing in return(it doesn't have to be money or even anything tangible, such as enhancing your resume)- okay, but you should still disclose your unpaid conflict of interest on your user page. 331dot (talk) 11:47, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the clarification, and my apologies for misunderstanding your initial question. I have now added an unpaid conflict of interest statement to my user page, as you advised. I appreciate your guidance and I will continue following COI and AfC procedures. Thank you again for your help. CristinaRaventos (talk) 11:51, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
- Your user page is User:CristinaRaventos. And in case you missed it, please use the Article Wizard to create and submit a draft(not your sandbox). 331dot (talk) 12:02, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you again, and my apologies for the confusion — I misunderstood “work” as “collaborate”. I will follow your instructions and proceed with the Article Wizard and the AfC process. Thank you very much for your guidance. CristinaRaventos (talk) 12:13, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
