Gorelovo Municipal Okrug moved to draftspace

edit

Thanks for your contributions to Gorelovo Municipal Okrug. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it has no sources. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Rambley[who?] 00:22, 6 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

List of cities in Kherson Oblast

edit

Hello. I've reverted your edits at this article and want to explain my reasoning. Regarding (Claimed and partially controlled by Russia) in the first paragraph, it's just redundant considering that this is already covered in the second paragraph. As for the rest, first of all, your additions are unsourced. Per WP:V, the text needs to be confirmed by reliable sources that need to be cited. Second, this is a featured list, which has been reviewed by multiple users and follows a general structure of a number of lists of cities in Ukraine that have also achieved this status. In disputed situations, it is necessary to reach a consensus, and in this particular case, a number of people have approved the (more or less) current version of the list, so major changes certainly require discussion. There have been many discussions regarding the broader situation but I am not personally aware of all the relevant ones. Finally, these edits fall under the topic of the Russo-Ukrainian war, which is under general sanctions, requiring users to be extended confirmed before making edits. I hope this clears up the situation and feel free to ask me any questions. Shwabb1 ⟨taco⟩ 19:07, 9 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Administration of Kherson Oblast by Russia

edit

Hello, I have made some changes at Administration of Kherson Oblast by Russia, but the article still needs attention. In particular, please shift your punctuation to go in front of citations, not after, as it appears throughout the article. Thank you, Jessicapierce (talk) 15:40, 14 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thank you! I'm new to editing Wikipedia, so I didn't know how to do references properly, and have made several grammar mistakes in the article. In particular, I want to add more information about how Russia manages the region, because right now it's fairly similar to Russian occupation of Kherson Oblast, an article about the MILITARY OCCUPATION of the oblast and not how Russia controls it as a subject of the Russian Federation. Aquafishy7 (talk) 09:48, 15 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
No worries, and thanks for making those changes! Let me know if I can help with anything. Jessicapierce (talk) 15:49, 15 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in the Russo-Ukrainian War. Due to past disruption in this topic area, the community has authorised uninvolved administrators to impose contentious topics restrictions—such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks—on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, expected standards of behaviour, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

  • Only extended-confirmed editors may make edits related to the topic area, though editors who are not extended-confirmed may post constructive comments and make edit requests related to articles within the topic area on article talk pages. Should disruption occur on article talk pages, administrators may take enforcement actions against disruptive editors and/or apply page protection on article talk pages. However, non-extended-confirmed editors may not make edits to internal project discussions related to the topic area, even on article talk pages. Internal project discussions include, but are not limited to, Articles for deletion nominations, WikiProjects, requests for comment, requested moves, and noticeboard discussions.

The editor is clearly making edits about the area despite not being extended confirmed, for example they have created Administration of Kherson Oblast by Russia. TylerBurden (talk) 17:34, 6 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Agreed. Administrators? ~2026-20513-58 (talk) 02:35, 10 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Actually that one wasn't mean't to be a Russo-Ukrainian war article, the opposite actually, it was meant to talk about the administration of Kherson Oblast without it sounding like it's talking about the OCCUPATION of the oblast MILITARILY, but how it manages to control the CIVILIANS in it, therefore hardly touching the topic of the war rather than Russian subjects and administration. Aquafishy7 (talk) 03:32, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
How does that make any logical sense whatsoever? How is a Russian military occupation not related to the war? TylerBurden (talk) 21:15, 9 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
It's a subject of the Russian Federation, means it should be covered as such, and not only as a military occupation. This is an article about the SUBJECT OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION, NOT about the military occupation of it. Creating "Administration of Kharkiv Oblast by Russia" would be more sensitive. The war is only described as a background for annexation. Aquafishy7 (talk) 12:25, 13 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
