Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue on the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Happy editing! Cheers, 🇵🇸🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦🇵🇸 17:42, 14 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Your submission at Articles for creation: Carina Alves (October 2)

edit
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Lijil was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Can you find any more significant coverage of her in multiple, reliable and independent sources, as described in WP:GNG? If so, great, she fulfils the notability criteria and there should be a Wikipedia article about her. She *might* but likely doesn't fulfil the criteria in WP:POLITICIAN - if you count the Jersey States Assembly as a national parliament she would be notable, but even if Jersey is independent it's not actually a sovereign state and it doesn't have as many people as most towns do. I can't find discussions on Wikipedia about this so I'm not sure. I do see that most of the other people in the States Assembly have Wikipedia pages. I would certainly prefer to see some more WP:SIGCOV though.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Hi Lijil,
Thank you for your comments - I'm going to add more information to Carina's page which will demonstrate why she is worthy of a page.
On your note about Jersey, I am going to have to correct you. Jersey is a self-governing Crown Dependency, with the ability to set our own laws and legislation. Please see more information about the States Assembly, which is our Parliament, here: States Assembly | About the States Assembly States Assembly | History of the States Assembly.
However, regarding Carina, I have more information to add in relation to her political career and life.
Thanks once again :) Aerith64 (talk) 09:25, 3 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi Thilio,
Thank you for reviewing. I am obviously disappointed that the article has not been accepted at this time, particularly as I disagree with some of your assessment regarding the references. The majority of the references are from reputable local Channel Islands media which include more than just 'passing mentions' of Deputy Alves electoral history and achievements while in office, such as her successful proposition to bring compensation for asbestos victims and her unsuccessful bid change our election criterial eligibility. I have resubmitted with additional citations. Aerith64 (talk) 14:56, 17 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Regarding your recent edits to Philip Ozouf when you modified the page, you introduced unknown parameters. Just because you specify |some_param=some_variable does not always mean that variable will display. The |some_param= must be defined in the template. You can look at the documentation for the template you are using but it is also helpful to use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find any errors you have made and ensure that the values you have added are displaying correctly. Below the edit box is a Show preview button. Pressing this will show you what the page will look like without actually saving it. It is strongly recommended that you use this before saving. Note I have likely fixed the error by now so check the history of the page to see how it was fixed. If you have any questions, contact the help desk for assistance. Thank you.
