Creating Redirects

edit

Hello, 2550 69 11hne,

We frequently see a pattern of some newer editors going a little crazy once they discover they can create redirect pages where they start making dozens and dozens of redirects, sometimes for very flimsy reasons like a typo or misspelling. When this starts getting really bad to the point where other editors notice, the editor gets called to WP:ANI and it often ends with the editor receiving a topic ban from creating pages and sometimes even a block from editing in the main space of the project. I just say this now, not because you are at this point but I see you moving into creating some redirects and please keep the bar high on what should be a redirect and do not fall into the trap of creating a redirect for each typo of a term you can come up with. This is not a good enough reason for creating a redirect page and if you want to refresh your knowledge here, review Wikipedia:Redirect#Purposes of redirects. Actually, there is a lot of good information on Wikipedia:Redirect that would be helpful to remind oneself about.

Happy editing! Liz Read! Talk! 06:38, 15 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Suction, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Push and Pull. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ  Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 19:53, 16 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, discussion pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:Mariana Trench, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Day Creature (talk) 19:27, 7 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Jim Wigginton

edit
Notice

The article Jim Wigginton has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not meet WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Whack!

You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly.

edit

What did you mean by “Associations” when you used it here as a (sub)section heading? ~2025-35226-31 (talk) 16:56, 21 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

It was because I needed another section for the article due to an issue with the lead. I tried to summarize the potential section.2550 69 11hne (talk) 19:07, 21 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

What are you up to?

Can I ask why you created 1.73205...? I have deleted it. It was previously deleted, after creation by a now-blocked user, User:FaroeFO. I would ask you to not create improbable redirects, especially those which have been deleted after a discussion. TeaDrinker (talk) 20:11, 30 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

I tried making redirects to pages like √3, with some possible search terms. 2550 69 11hne (talk) 20:23, 30 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

I see you have made a number of redirects. The terms you have created do not seem at all likely. Please stop. --TeaDrinker (talk) 21:01, 30 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

Block notice

edit
Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

Request reason:

I have no affiliation with WikiPro10, he was shown to be a 22 year old male per userpage before he was blocked. I am an under 20 female. I have 4 dynamic ipv6 addresses, all starting with "2601", and it switches to an ipv4 address starting with "97" during the weekdays between 9am and 3pm, sometimes even to 5pm. (An exception is in certain days of the year, such such as mid December-January and Mid May-early August) The userpage and contributions connection is also due to the fact that we both like to be crazy in the user pages and sandbox. It's quite common with users. WikiPro10 quit wikipedia and moved to fandom, not making any useful contributions. In my user page, I noted certain interests and abilities, not shown with WikiPro10. I never even knew about WikiPro10 before the block. 2550 69 11hne (talk) 20:50, 6 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

You say "get a check user"; Ponyo is a CheckUser and you were blocked due to CU evidence. Also I find it curious here where you appear to be replying to yourself as if you were a different user. Regardless you were checkuser-blocked; while it is true that  CheckUser is not magic pixie dust you will need to provide much more convincing evidence than "I am not them" to overturn that. - The Bushranger One ping only 06:46, 7 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

@The Bushranger: I was not, I was just realizing he was the check user. After that, I then found out WikiPro 10 had a {{checkuser-block tag. I did not know he was the check user before the I checked it. 2550 69 11hne (talk) 16:40, 7 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
