Cities
editPlease stop changing the descriptions of Australian towns to cities. The word "city" is legally defined. Your changes are simply wrong. All your changes need to be reverted. If you don't do it yourself, you are simply creating work for other editors, so please make the changes yourself. HiLo48 (talk) 00:06, 11 September 2023 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Wingeel, Victoria
editHello 1geel0ng1, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Wingeel, Victoria, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Wingeel, Victoria.
Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|North8000}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message
editHello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:58, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
New articles
editI noticed you have made three new articles over the last two days, all on historic Australian buildings. While this is excellent—we do love a good heritage architecture article around here—I noticed a few hallmarks of LLM/AI use in your new creations. If you are indeed using AI to supplement/assist the creation of articles, please exercise great caution. There are instances where it appears that your articles differ from the sources they cite in matters of fact. These are minor issues within the articles I've glanced at, but I would ask you take some time to review your work up to this point before going on to your next article. Please feel free to ping me with {{re|Pbritti}} if you have any questions. Best, ~ Pbritti (talk) 04:40, 19 November 2025 (UTC)

editHi 1geel0ng1. Thank you for your work on Fyansford Paper Mill. Another editor, Scope creep, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
A great series of articles you've written including this one. They are ideal although I notice the references are bare urls. Probably in 2 years time, every one of these references will be useless as things will have moved. So to make them easier to find can add full publisher information, like who created, publisher, website, location, dates and so on. Adding that information will future-proof the article better and less chance of it being deleted later if the information can't be found to WP:V verify it. There is a wee tutorial WP:REFB that shows you how to create full cites. Might be handy.
To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Scope creep}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

- In the Mount Rouse article, there's apparently a snag with reference # 4 to Agriculture Victoria, which doesn't seem to link to anything on Mount Rouse. Could you take a look? (The other refs all look fine). Thanks, Ingratis (talk) 07:42, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
AI use on Barwon Park
editHi @1geel0ng1. You've repeatedly removed the AI-generated flag from the article for Barwon Park, but the issue is that this article still contains significant problems due to the fact that you used AI to generate it. Below are just some of the claims not verified by the citations associated with them:
- "Constructed between 1869 and 1871 for prominent pastoralist Thomas Austin and his wife Elizabeth Austin, the house is regarded as one of the finest surviving examples of a French Romanesque rural mansion in Victoria's Western District. Set within landscaped grounds overlooking the Barwon River, the property reflects the wealth, ambition and social standing of the Austin's and subsequent owners during the height of the colonial pastoral era."
- "Austin was born in Baltonsborough, Somerset, and came from a family with agricultural and commercial connections. By the late 1830s, he had established himself as a successful grazier in Victoria's Western District, an area that rapidly became one of the wealthiest pastoral regions in colonial Australia due to its suitability for sheep grazing."
- "designed a large French Romanesque-style residence intended to rival the grandest homestead of the Western District. Construction commenced in 1869 and was completed in 1871, using locally quarried bluestone and high-quality imported materials for interior finishes. The last furniture arrived on a ship from London in March 1871"... This source refers to the architecture as Italiante and says that the home was completed in 1869, directly contradicting the text.
- "Thomas became seriously ill after cutting his finger while tending to his horses, with the cut becoming infected. On 15 December 1871, he had to get the finger amputated, and went to visit his daughter's husband, who was a doctor working in Ballarat. Whilst there, it became infected again, and additionally contracted gastroenteritis, and subsequently passed away. His funeral took place on 18 December and was one of the largest in Victoria at the time."
I believe that the AI template should remain until a neutral third party can review the article for accuracy and choose to remove it. There are significant issues with using AI to generate Wikipedia content and your article demonstrates precisely why. Vegantics (talk) 19:13, 6 January 2026 (UTC)

editHi 1geel0ng1. Thank you for your work on Ss Johns' Anglican Church, Colac. Another editor, Hughesdarren, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
Hi, Thanks for your contribution. Should the be title be "St Johns' Anglican Church, Colac" rather than "Ss Johns' Anglican Church, Colac"? All of the references listed say "St John". If you would like me to move the article to the correct title then let me know. Regards
To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Hughesdarren}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)
Hughesdarren (talk) 01:51, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
- If you're of the belief that it should be changed, I'm open to that. The "Ss Johns' Anglican Church" was based of the official website, but it seems that because it's an anomaly being called "Ss", people have erroneously called it "St John's" but I welcome your judgement! 1geel0ng1 (talk) 02:13, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply, I hadn't looked at the official website, just at the listed references, but you are correct that does say Ss - I think I'll leave it as is and post this thread on the article talk page. Best Regards. Hughesdarren (talk) 02:51, 9 January 2026 (UTC)

- Hi, I've subsequently made the notability more clear on Addiscot Beach. The article contains no machine-generated text, and I'm not sure as to why it was marked as such. The article 49 and 51 Gertrude Street, Geelong West has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Does not meet WP:NBUILDING, sources don't show any "historic, social, economic, or architectural importance" and a search doesn't bring up anything
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.
If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time. echidnalives - talk - edits 11:54, 29 January 2026 (UTC)

editHello. I'm sorry I've had to introduce myself through nominations for deletions like this. I wanted to leave you a quick note, because despite a few things you're a constructive contributor and someone we're lucky to have here on Wikipedia!
I know it can be a bit disheartening for your work to be nominated for deletion, but I'd like to encourage you to stick with it and develop your article creating skills. Content policies and guidelines, such as notability and no original research, can be difficult areas to get your head around, and it can take some time to fully grasp them. Significant coverage is probably the key thing here: it's important to ensure that an article topic has sources which "addresses the topic directly and in detail, so that no original research is needed to extract the content". It also mentions that trivial mentions are not enough to be considered significant coverage.
My main recommendation to you would be to primarily create articles through the Articles for Creation process until you've had more experience with the content guidelines here on Wikipedia. It can be annoying to have submissions rejected, but the constructive criticism can be really helpful, and beats having work nominated for deletion later. And where you need a bit more support, the AfC help desk will always be happy to help you out!
If you have any questions about all this, or there's anything I can help you get better versed in, feel free to let me know! I wish you luck in your future creations and contributions! Thanks, echidnalives - talk - edits 11:30, 30 January 2026 (UTC)
