Jack Reacher: Never Go Back
editGreetings, I saw that in an edit you made to Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, you questioned why information in the infobox was removed. The original editor should have explained their edit, but not leaving an edit summary is not vandalism. They were correct to delete it because it was faulty information. Prior to the film's release, the budget was estimated to be $96 million dollars , which is the number that the deleted source used . After the film's release however, the budget was updated to $60 million . Every reliable source covering the film's release uses the $60 million figure , and according to Deadline, this figure comes directly from Paramount . Before accusing an edit of being vandalism, assume good faith and consider doing some research first. ~ Nikoledood (talk) 06:42, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
- This discussion should be on the article talk page, please reply there only. Reliable sources should not be deleted without any explanation. In particular Template:Infobox film budget expressly warns against deleting conflicting budget figures. Figures being "outdated" is not a reason to delete, but that isn't the case here, the figures weren't outdated, The FilmLA report was not an incorrect early estimate it was a later end of year report published in 2017 about the year 2016. The FilmLA report is arguably more likely to be accurate than Box Office Mojo, but the documentation says to keep the conflicting estimates so we don't need to argue about which sources are better than others. If someone wants to make an exception to what the documentation recommends they would at least need to start a discussion and gain local consensus, but it would be better to just follow what the guidelines recommend and not delete reliable sources. -- 109.77.197.55 (talk) 23:57, 14 March 2025 (UTC)
