Hi, I'm Tess.

The staff of Bomis in the summer of 2000.

During the early days of Wikipedia, I worked for User:Jimbo Wales at Bomis in Pacific Beach and on Point Loma. I was one of the first engineers to be paid to work on Wikipedia, along with User:JasonR and Toan Vo. I took a photo of the Bomis staff that's featured in the History of Wikipedia article.

My biggest contribution to Wikipedia during that time was the UseModWiki hack that we used to include LaTeX formulas in math articles, and just generally keeping the servers up and running.

I haven't participated all that much in the Wikipedia community since that time.

About me

I manage the Web standards team at Apple Inc., where I have worked on Web standards for over fifteen years. I'm the current President of Ecma International. I sit on the Advisory Board of the World Wide Web Consortium, and I sat on its Technical Architecture Group for six years.

You can read much more about me on my home page, which has been up since 1997 or so.
