Here is a link to older diffs of this page. It was actually getting in my way. This page is now a scratchpad just like User:Soap/climate but i'll try to use this page for more "polar" subjects (in the sense of polar questions, not cold climates).

Amazingly, Hyder, Alaska is just 118 ft above sea level, yet its winters are 11F colder than nearby Metlakatla, Alaska. It would seem that the winters get cold exceptionally quickly moving inland, as compared with for example the Pacific NW where it hardly seems to change at all. A nearby station in Stewart, British Columbia removes any doubt for me ... they can't both be wrong.
