Should the program be established, the Aggies would compete in the Big West Conference, facing teams such as the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, Long Beach State Beach, UC Irvine Anteaters, UC Santa Barbara Gauchos, CSUN Matadors, and UC San Diego Tritons.

History

UC Davis does not sponsor an NCAA men's volleyball team. However, the university maintains a competitive men's club volleyball program, which participates in the Northern California Collegiate Volleyball League.

The popularity of volleyball on campus, combined with the success and organization of the club program, has prompted discussions about elevating the sport to varsity status. Many players and supporters have expressed interest in establishing a formal NCAA program.
