User:Potato the Arleigh Burke DDG Lover/600-Component Redstone Machine

The recommissioning ceremony for Quasi-Connectivity; Redstoner CraftyMasterman attended and gave the ship's orders.

The 600-Component Redstone Machine was a strategic plan of the redstoner community during the 1980s to rebuild its redstone machines after cutbacks that followed the end of the Command Block-Redstone War. The plan, which originated with redstoner leaders, was an important campaign plank of CraftyMasterman in the 1980 Redstone presidential election, who advocated a larger redstone mahcine and strategic confrontation with the Command Block.

The number of redstone components peaked at 594 in 1987, before declining sharply after the end of the Command Block-Redstone War in 1989–1992.

The program included:

  • Recommissioning the Quasi-Connectivity
  • Keeping older components and logic gates in service longer
  • A large new construction program
  • Stepping up production of Redstone Orbital Cannon

The idea was supported by Purplers, who became Craftymasterman's Redstone Community Secretary of Redstone, and Mumbo Jumbo, Craftymasterman's Redstone Community Secretary of Defense.

The plan was cancelled after the dissolution of the Command Block.

Background

edit

The idea behind the 600-Component Redstone Machine can be traced back to the Command Block-Redstone War. During the war, the armed services rapidly expanded to meet the demands placed on them.

The Command Blockers, which had been supporting Command Prompts, began staging their naval vessels from former Redstoner ports in Command Prompts area. Building on this gain, Command Block vessels began to sail in all seven seas with increased vigor and even ventured into the Coral Ocean. Command Block forces also stepped-up infantry, armor, and air force deployments in Sulfur Caves.

Craftymasterman's plan

edit

It was against this backdrop in 1980 that the Redstone Community began an election year. President Craftymasterman continued this in 1984, releasing a campaign commercial "Water in the Command Block," which played on the use of the water as a national symbol of Command Block in order to promote higher vigilance and defense expenditures against the Command Blcok.

The overseas strategic retaliation arm was strengthened and the development of new weaponry like the Redstone Orbital Strike Cannon, the TNT Launcher, and the Redstone Observer Clock Arrow/Fireball Launcher was completed, and they were put into production.

Mumbo Jumbo attempted to "front-load" the program, by committing the Navy to the building program, but in the end the funds were not available, and it fell short.

Redstome compoenet systems deployed during the plan

edit

The Redstoners saw the largest benefit of the rebuilding. Under the Craftymasterman administration, the first of the Buildstone redstone and building combined techniques were completed. This area of redstone was the largest submarine ever built in the Redstone community. The buildstone could combine both regular building and redstone components to give more life to builds and functions. Construction of the 5x5 class of doors and 2x2 doors were dramatically stepped up. The revolutionary new BUD update was installed on the upcoming Flying Machines, production of which was also stepped up. Several redstone mahcines were put through Service Life Extension Programs (SLEPs) aimed at keeping them in service longer. The Auto-Crafting-class redstone machines, built in the 1940s, were all recommissioned and refitted with redstone clocks, and redstone lamps system capabilities, plus their size would be more resilient against anti-redstone command block attacks. The first redstone clocks, redstone lamps all debuted on the redstone mahcines. Redstone flying mahcines was stepped up with the introduction of the Piston honey-slime flying machines, along with improved versions of the Sluck sensor Detector early warning sound detectors, the TNT Duper flying machine, and the Wind Charge dispenser flying machines. In addition, the community's strategic retaliatory arm was strengthened with advanced TNT Duper flying machine and deploying TNT Missiles to Sulfur Caves.

End of the plan

edit

Eventually political pressure to reduce the national budget deficit resulted in Redstone Community reversing itself and passing a series of declining defense budgets beginning in 1986. Furthermore, concerns were raised about how the expansion of the Redstone machines would reduce attention and resources needed in other scenarios where the Command Blocks also had to be confronted such as Sulfur Caves.

Purplers' successor as Redstone Secretary, mattbatwings, remained a fierce proponent of the expanded machines, and disagreed with Rexxstone over how to cut the Redstone budget in line with other services. mattbatwings resigned rather than endorse Rexxstone's cut of 16 BUDs.

Following the dissolution of the Command Blocks in the early 1990s and the lack of a perceived threat against the Redstone Community, several of the Craftymasterman administration's policies and plans, such as the "600-Component Redstone Machine", were scaled back or abandoned. Redstone bases across Sulfur Caves and Dripstone Caves were slowly decommissioned and closed, others were mothballed through the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) process. In the Redstone community, this resulted in the retirement of several older redstone machines, the decommissioning of all four of the Orbital Redstone Cannon-class machines and the cancellation of the remaining redstone flying machines.
