Liranyi Alonso (born 28 December 2005)[1][2] is a Dominican athlete sprinter specializing in the 100 and 200 meters.

She won the silver medal at the 2025 NACAC Championships and won the bronze in the 2023 Pan American Games and 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games 4 × 100 m relay. She won the 2025 Junior Pan American Games gold in 200 m and silver in 100 m, having won the bronze in the 4×400 m relay mixed in the 2021 Junior Pan American Games. She became national champion in 100 m in 2023, 24 and 25 and 200 m champion in 2025. She is the Dominican record holder in 60 m and 100 m.[2]

She is a Private from the Dominican Air Force[3] and is coached by the Dominican José Ludwig Rubio.[4]

At the Regional Championship for School Age, were she represented her home province of La Vega, she won the Under 16 100m gold medal with 12.16 and the 200m with 25.25, she also won the bronze medal in long jump with a 4.32 mark.[5] In May she participated in the National Senior Champioships, placing nineth with 4.75m in the long jump competition.[6] She won the 100 m Jaime David Fernández Mirabal School Athletics Classic, held in Santo Domingo, she ran12.27 in the preliminaries and 12.36 in the finals, and later won the 200m golden medal with 25.56.[7] Alonso represented the North region at the National Student Games and ran 24.90 to win the 200m, and was part of the silver medal in 4x400 and finished fourth in the 4x100m.[8]

She went to the Under 16 Regional Championship in Santo Domingo, winning the 100 m with 12.16 and the 200 m with 25.25.

2021

She travelled to Bayaguana and participated at the Professor Isaac Ogando Festival of Speed, at the Luguelín Santos stadium, were she won the 100 m gold medal with 11.58.[9]

National Senior Championships were she placed second to Martha Méndez in both, 100m with 12.07 and 200m with 24.42. [10]

Félix Sánchez Invitational, in Santo Domingo, winning the 100m with 11.95 and bronze in the 200m with 24.47.[11]

Alonso took part of the World U20 Championships, at the Moi International Sports Centre, in Nairobi, Kenya[12] were she had a 11.73 mark in the semifinals, not qualifyin to the finals, ending in the 13th place.[13]

She took part of the Junior Pan American Games winning the mixed 4 × 400 meters relay bronze medal,[14] and running 11.62 in the 100m final, earning the fourth place.[15] She also run the 4 × 100 meters relay and earned a fourth place as well.[16]

2022

At the Dominican Championships, she competed in the 100 Metres winning the bronze medal with 12.11 to win [17]

Bolivarian Games 11.76 in the 100 m to end in the fifth place.[18]

She was one of the only two athletes that represented the Dominican Republic at the World U20 Championships at Pascual Guerrero Stadium, Cali.[19] She competed in the 100 metres, running 11.65 and 11.61 for the 15th place of the event,[20] and at the 200 metres, having 23.76 in the heats and 23.59 to end in the 13th place in 200m.[21] She competed at the Jaime David Fernández Mirabal School Athletics Classic she won the Under 18 100m and 200m with 12.10 and 25.02.[22]

2023

Alonso was enlisted in the CRESO athlete support initiative.[23]

VII Memorial José Antonio Cansino, Pistes d'atletisme Gaetà Huguet, Castellón she win the bronze in 100m 11.34 and fifth place in 200m 23.65.[30]

During the Central American and Caribbean Games, she participated in the 100m, having 11.58 in the heats and 11.58 in the final to end in seventh place.[31][32] she also took part in the 4x100m relay, earning the bronze medal with a 43.45 time.[33]

Alonso competed during the Pan American Games were she ranked in fifth at the 100 m with 11.63,[36] and was part of the 4 × 100 metres relay team that run 45.05 in the semifinals and 44.32 to win the bronze medal.[37][38]

Alonso went to the World Athletics Relays, at The Bahamas National Stadium, Nassau[41] they had a 44.72 time, valid for the 26th place when her team did not make it to the Repechage Olympic qualifying round.[42]

2024 Castellón Provincial Council Grand Prix, fifth place in 100m with 11.79.[43]

National Senior Championship, became national champion in 100m with 11.51.[44]

Alonso went to the World U20 Championships, and had a 100 metres 11.77 in the heats and 11.89 in the semifinals, not qualifying for the finals.[45]

2025

Competing at the Randal Tyson Indoor Center, Fayetteville she took part of the Tyson Invitational, she had placed fourth in the 60m final with 7.33, having run 7.31 in the semifinal round setting a national record.[2]

Félix Sánchez Classic, she was second in both 100m with 11.25[46] and 200m with 23.05.[47]

Military Games, won the 100m with 11.17 setting a championship record[48][3][49] and the 4x100m relay with 44.22[50] and 200m with 23.05 and was second place in 200m with 22.98.[51]

In Sweden, she won the Folksam Grand Prix Varberg gold medal with 11.15 in 100m, setting a national record in the semifinals with 11.14 then went to win the CAS Meeting International, Luxemburg in 100m with 11.15, setting another national record in the semifinals with 11.13.[52]

Dominican Republic champion in 100m setting a national record in 100m with 11.04[53] and qualified for the World Championships[54] also winning the championship in 200m with 23.46.[55]

At the NACAC Championships she won the 100 metres silver medal running 11.10.[56]

She later represented her home country at the Junior Pan American Games, earning the 200m gold medal, setting a games record with 22.69,[57] qualifying for the 2027 Pan American Games[58] and winning the silver medal at the 100m with 11.40. She previously ran 11.08 to set a Junior Pan American Games record in the semifinals.[59] His coach, José Ludwig Rubio, reacted to these winning, pointing her as next Dominican Republic athletics star.[60]
