I love Adele and this album was lovely, I thought it would be better to choose something that I had an interest in and improve it from there. Also having some knowledge of the subject before hand might come in handy when evaluating the content.

  • Does the Lead include an introductory sentence that concisely and clearly describes the article's topic?
    • Yes, the first sentence establishes that the song was on Adele's album "25" which is her third album.
  • Does the Lead include a brief description of the article's major sections?
    • In the lead, the author(s) briefly cover the production, style, theme, critical reception, performances, and chart history of the song which is all covered in more detail through the rest of the article.
  • Does the Lead include information that is not present in the article?
    • No, this article is very detailed and covers all of the information mentioned in the opening paragraphs
  • Is the Lead concise or is it overly detailed?
    • I think that the opening is detailed enough that the key information is given to readers right off the bat and doesn't bombard readers with too much information. There is just enough to give a summary of the article with the highlights while letting you know there is more to be covered if you choose to read on.

  • Is the article's content relevant to the topic?
    • Yes, because Adele is such am acclaimed artist and her music is received on such a massive scale, there is a lot of information to cover Tove give the song context in her career, composition of the song, the reception at the time, and her use of the song after it's release.
  • Is the content up-to-date?
    • As the song was released in 2016 and Adele has kept a relatively low profile (not performing) in the time since then, it is more likely for this some to be "up-to-date".
  • Is there content that is missing or content that does not belong?
    • No content is missing. This is an extremely detailed article which goes into great detail on every piece of information. There are sections such as "Music Video" which even include interview with the director, the design of the dress, and the critical reception of the video. This is information which I wouldn't have expected to see but does give me a fuller picture of the song and it's broader context.
  • Does the article deal with one of Wikipedia's equity gaps? Does it address topics related to historically underrepresented populations or topics?
    • Other than Adele being a woman in music, no.

  • Is the article neutral?
    • Yes. This article does a great job of presenting facts with little to no leading words to sway the reader to feel any way about the song or Adele. Any language in the article which uses emotional speech is within quotes from someone involved with the song's production or a review of the song from a critic.
  • Are there any claims that appear heavily biased toward a particular position?
    • No. Recuasse this is an article about a song, it isn't a subject that can take a real position on the subject. Any details which give the song rank or prestige, are all either statistics of the song's charting, the esteem of those involved in the composition, or the critical reception conveyed through quotes or achieved status.
  • Are there viewpoints that are overrepresented, or underrepresented?
    • While it could be said that the article is overwhelmingly positive about the song, that is because the response was overwhelmingly positive. There is a negative review from Stereogum who did not enjoy the music video, this is included in the article and gives an alternative viewpoint to show the video wasn't loved by all.
  • Does the article attempt to persuade the reader in favor of one position or away from another?
    • No, this article simply states facts and lets the reader make their own judgements. As this is about a song, it is safe to say that anyone who reads this also has access to the song or video (on YouTube or elsewhere online) and is able to use this factual information on wiki compounded with their own experience to form their own contextualised opinion.

  • Are all facts in the article backed up by a reliable secondary source of information?
    • Yes, because this is a music centred article, the sources are mainly from music review sites such as Billboard, Sterogum, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, etc. as well as trusted news sources such as BBC, The Guardian, and the New York Times.
  • Are the sources thorough - i.e. Do they reflect the available literature on the topic?
    • This article is surprisingly well backed up for a song which is arguably one of her lesser known hits. There are 150 citations for this article and every section of it has multiple sources linked to give readers the opportunity to access the information for themselves.
  • Are the sources current?
    • As the song was released in mid-2016, most of the articles were released within a year of that date. For article topics such as the album release (2015) the content is dated closer to that time period. There have been little to no relevant sources on the subject since then.
  • Are the sources written by a diverse spectrum of authors? Do they include historically marginalised individuals where possible?
    • Most of the sources are from music centric authors from a wide variety of sites. As someone who loves music, I can confirm that the sites linked to the article all take a different approach to music. Through these links, there are a wide selection of authors/critics who have all taken their own stance on the subject.
  • Check a few links. Do they work?
    • Yes! The links lead straight to the sources cited in the article. There are also many links to other wiki articles to give additional context.

  • Is the article well-written - i.e. Is it concise, clear, and easy to read?
    • Yes there is clear flow between the sections of the article making it easy to read and follow the information from beginning to end.
  • Does the article have any grammatical or spelling errors?
    • No. Nothing that I could pick up or that impedes the ability to read the article.
  • Is the article well-organized - i.e. broken down into sections that reflect the major points of the topic?
    • Yes, the information is clearly broken into logical sections which build on one another from one to the next. Starting with Background to composition and critical reception (etc) the reader gets a view of the "story" of the song from beginning to end.

  • Does the article include images that enhance understanding of the topic?
    • Yes. The Article includes pictures of Adele from the music video, Max Martin who worked on the song with her, and the music video director. The only thing I would have included was a larger or more impactful photo of Adele performing live (eg at Glastonbury) to give the scale of her performance and the crowd she draws.
  • Are images well-captioned?
    • Yes, every photo has a clear caption to explain the person photographed and their relationship to the song as well as a link to their individual wiki page.
  • Do all images adhere to Wikipedia's copyright regulations?
    • Yes, every photo is linked with their source and permissions.
  • Are the images laid out in a visually appealing way?
    • The images are within the article at the points where that visual is relevant however I would recommend making the photos larger to become more appealing and more impactful.

    • From what I can tel the article is near "good status" as per the discussion on the talk page but has not been edited since 2018 so it has not achieved that yet.
  • What are the article's strengths?
    • Incredibly detailed with a large net of related information that might not be easy to find on your own or might not come up on a personal search.
  • How can the article be improved?
    • I think adding better photos might improve the article.
  • How would you assess the article's completeness - i.e. Is the article well-developed? Is it underdeveloped or poorly developed?
    • I think the article is incredibly well-developed. It is hard to think of any information that would be excluded from this article which would help readers gain knowledge on the subject.
