The Beatles 4-Film Cinematic Event is an upcoming series of 4 Biographical films about the English rock band The Beatles produced and directed by Sam Mendes[1]. Each film tells interconnected stories in the perspective of each member of the band.
The films will star Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr[2][3].
These films are the first Beatles biopics to be made with full cooperation with Apple Corps, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and the estates of John Lennon and George Harrison, they granted permission to use their life stories and music for the films.[4][1] These four films are set to be released on April 2028 by Sony Pictures worldwide.

The script for the Ringo movie was requested to be altered because Starr didn't like their depiction of him with his first wife Maureen Starkey Tigrett, stating that "That’s not how we were. I’d say, ‘We would never do that."[5] It was changed where Ringo would be happy with
Filming
editRoger Deakins had been rumored to be the cinematographer of the films, but his involvement hasn't been confirmed yet[6]
Casting
editOn November 27th, 2024, Ringo Starr revealed in a Rolling Stone interview that Barry Keoghan will be playing Ringo in the films.[3] Anna Sawai was rumored to play the role of Yoko Ono.[8] She would dismiss the rumors while backstage at the SAG Awards, saying "I think a rumor is just a rumor".[9] On April 1st, 2025, the actors who will be playing as John, Paul, George and Ringo was officially revealed at Sony's CinemaCon 2025 panel[2], this confirmed some rumors on who will play John Paul, and Ringo with the only exception being George, with him being cast by Joseph Quinn instead of Rowe. The cast received some backlash by fans for not having any resemblance to their respective band member and for not hiring Liverpudlian actors with the cast being half Irish and half English.[10]
Release
editThe four films were originally set for a 2027 release window[1], but it was changed to April 2028.
At the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, Sam Mendes, the guest lecturer, told that he plans to release all the four films on the same day[11]
