I grew up in Culver City, California near Los Angeles and am an autistic self-advocate, having written research papers, spoken at conferences, and worked at schools. I will begin a PhD program in educational psychology in Fall 2009. Wikipedia appeals to me as an independent thinker who wants "pure" information for others and myself; I think educating the world for "free" is a very humanitarian ideal and project. I wish to contribute to world knowledge and am thankful for what gains Wikipedia has already imparted to me.
