Justice for All Party
editOn June 5, Cornel West announced his candidacy for the presidency, as a member of the People's Party.[2] He then stated he would attempt to earn the Green Party's nomination on June 14.[3]
Cornel West dropped out of the Green Party primary race and began his independent run for the office on October 5.[4] This decision was frowned upon by the Greens, who noted that West's ballot access was going to be limited as a result of that choice.[5]
The Justice for All Party was created by Cornel West on January 31 to achieve ballot access in multiple states.[6]
Progressive Bloc The PSL, Green, and JFA parties were missing ballot access in multiple states by election day. An agreement was worked out between the three parties to urge their supporters to vote for one another's tickets in states where their own party was not on the ballot. On October 30, the West/Abdullah campaign and De la Cruz/Garcia campaigns came to an agreement to support each other's campaigns. JFA encouraged supporters in Florida, Hawaii, Mississippi, New Mexico, and Tennessee vote for the PSL ticket, meanwhile, De la Cruz and Garcia asked supporters in Alaska to vote for West and Abdullah.[7] On November 3, the De la Cruz campaign announced that they had agreed to encourage their supporters in Arkansas and Montana to vote for the Stein/Ware ticket, while they in turn would urge their supporters to vote for the PSL in Indiana and North Dakota.[8]
