Editing tips (personal list)
Collaboration & accomodation
editI am neurodivergent, and sometimes absorb and express information atypically, so please be patient, AGF, and ask me what I mean if in doubt or if I seem to be advocating something strange or contentious. Sometimes it may take a few rounds of back-and-forth to clarify what I mean, so please don't sound-bite me and scurry to the nearest noticeboard. Wikipedia thrives far better with light than with heat, and I know I certainly do.
Especially under wikistress, I may tend to get too granular, or hyperfocused, or wordy, in which case please do let me know -- but please don't assume that such lapses necessarily indicate "bludgeoning" or other such tendentiousness. While I am (at least) as capable of making mistakes as anyone, I'm genuinely trying my best, and am grateful for your understanding.
Privacy

- Encyclopedic prose should err on the side of grammatical rigor as opposed to innovative language change

editThe Golden Fivefold Path To Making Editing Fun Or At Least Relatively Painless
edit- Omit needless words (including not repeating the same point in multiple comments)
- Be collegial and stay focused on content. Make a steel man of opposing arguments
- Don't edit war. Seek broad input and allow the debate to take its course. Accept eventualism
- Ignore all drama and resist baiting
- DGAF: Don't perseverate, do procrastinate; avoid the urge to stay up late
