GEM (France) Educational Project Autumn/Fall 2025

edit

As part of a Year 1 undergraduate course in IT Skills (GEM, France), I am working in a supervised student team on a digital publishing project, involving the creation of a new draft page. I am new to the Wikipedia platform and learning to edit following Wikipedia rules, with learning and assessment criteria including topic acceptability, content relevance, linking, style/grammar, sourcing, image use and copyright, use of draft Talk pages, and page formatting.  I will have completed mandatory WikiEd Training for Students modules (evidenced with my exhibits on this user page) and have regular workshops during the project to address any draft editing issues. I am also supported with a course website, help resources, class lectures, a detailed project document and regular tutor feedback via draft Talk pages and team meetings.

I am open to any advice on improvements in my editing skills and draft page content, in conformity to Wikipedia requirements and guidelines, and any help useful for the enhancement of the draft page will be gladly accepted.

There is a supporting Educational Course Page, with all the student usernames and draft project pages, at: https://outreachdashboard.wmflabs.org/courses/Grenoble_Ecole_de_Management/IT_Skills_Digital_Publishing_(Autumn_2025)

My supervising GEM tutor is User:Limelightangel.

Economic Impact of Globalization

edit

Globalization is a defining trend of the modern world, deeply influencing economic systems and social structures across countries of varying development levels. The relationships between globalization, innovation, urbanization, and environmental sustainability drive both economic growth and societal change.[1]

Key Findings:

1. In developed nations, a rise of one percentage point in the proportion of high-technology exports relative to GDP typically corresponds with a 0.5% boost in the rate of economic growth.

2. Countries such as the United States and Germany experience sustainable development and reductions in per capita CO₂ emissions, driven largely by strong innovation and urbanization efforts.

3. Conversely, developing nations like Ukraine and Kenya, which have lower levels of innovation and less developed urban infrastructure, tend to show slower economic advancement alongside increases in carbon emissions.

4. Sustainable progress and improved environmental outcomes are closely linked to fostering innovation, building robust urban infrastructure, and enacting conducive policy frameworks.[2]
