Scarlet Witch has undergone several retcons, particularly in her origin story, and her story is described as the most complex and "bizarre" in Marvel.[1][2][3] Initially, pre-2014 material, she was portrayed as she was born with twins brother Quicksilver to the the Golden Age superhero Whizzer and Miss America, some time later it was established that she and her twin brother Quicksilver were the children of X-Men villain Magneto
in fictional place called Wundagore Mountain, Transia, in Eastern Europe to a mutant Magnus and a gypsy woman named Magda.[4][1][2] Originally revealed to be the daughter of the Golden Age superhero Whizzer, it was later established she and her twin brother Quicksilver were the children of X-Men villain Magneto. This parentage was their status quo until 2014, when a further retcon revealed that she and Quicksilver were in fact non-mutants who had been kidnapped and experimented on by the High Evolutionary, and then misled to believe that Magneto was their father.

As well as Wanda was Characterized as "wanting to do the right thing, wants to make right with Magneto."
As she was there Wanda and will go wherever she goes. And Wanda is only there because she feels like she owes Magneto something after he saved the two of them from an angry European lynch mob (a recurring theme in both Marvel comics and Scarlet Witch's origin story). Throughout the early years of the character's appearances in the 1960s, Lee wrote Wanda as a calm, people-pleasing figure, constantly deferring to others, putting up with Mastermind, and talking her twin brother down from fighting with Brotherhood of Evil members. This trait, often seen in comic book stories of the period, reflected and was imbued with the sexism of the time, as female heroes were frequently marginalized.[1]
