How I started to be a User inside Wikipedia: I recently consulted the article on Joseph Fourier at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Fourier. Out of an interest in climate science and the idea of the earth's electromagnetic radiation balance, I wanted to find out what Fourier contributed to such discussion. I discovered a sentence in the article which I found misleading, because - as I understood it - it implied that Fourier calculated a temperature anomaly between the earth's mean surface temperature in calculation and the temperature as experienced. [I'm sure my last sentence there begs a new set of questions, but enough for the time being.] The alleged calculation seemed to be referring to the types of calculation that - as I understand it - came up later in history towards 1900 in the study and exploration of black-body physics. 2026Feb26thThur [Australian eastern time]
