European Windstorms & Extra-Tropical Cyclones

edit

I work heavily on maintaining and modernising the European windstorm pages, ensuring they meet Wikipedia's highest encyclopaedic standards.

  • Page Modernisation: I have systematically updated seasonal and individual storm articles, replacing outdated summaries with more technical, descriptive, and comprehensive text for each meteorological event.
  • Structural Page Architecture: I focus on creating valuable secondary pages and infrastructure assets to improve the wider topic tree. For example, using my alternate account, I created and structured the List of historical European windstorm names page to centralise historical European naming conventions.

South-West Indian Ocean (SWIO) Cyclones

edit

My passion for tropical meteorology is focused on the South-West Indian Ocean tropical cyclone basin, where I specialise in historical tracking and data restoration.

  • Pre-1990s Data Archiving: I have dedicated significant time to researching and enriching older basin history. I have built out and added intricate storm details to pre-1990s cyclone season pages that were previously sparse or completely missing, helping preserve accurate historical timelines for the basin.

  • Doing... Extracting historical meteorological data to enrich missing gaps in 1970s/1980s SWIO cyclone seasons.
  • icon ToDo Expanding cross-referencing on the historical windstorm naming list.
