My username was inspired by Abram Fedorovich Ioffe (1880–1960), a Russian physicist who founded the modern theory of semiconductor thermoelectricity, and William Thomson, also known as Lord Kelvin (1824–1907), an Irish-Scottish engineer, mathematician, and physicist who is credited with predicting and observing the Thomson effect in thermoelectric heating and cooling.
