The Chinese Super League has been the top tier of the Chinese football league system since its foundation in 2004. The opening match of the 2004 Chinese Super League was an encounter between Tianjin TEDA and Chongqing Qiche, and took place at the newly-built TEDA Soccer Stadium in Tianjin.[1][2]
