Harm Frielink was born on Saturday, August 21, 1954 in Leiden the Netherlands, studied at the uUniversities of Leiden and Rotterdam. He is retired. He worked as a teacher for Saxion, as a senior consultant for Newcom Research & Consultancy, IBM and CGI/Logica/CMG in Amsterdam, Goudse Verzekeringen in Gouda and Micropartners in Woerden.

He is married to Riet van Gijzen and they live together with 2 cats (Max and Sammy) in Neuenhaus Germany.
Major interest are:

Programming Languages & Operation systems: AIONDS, UNIX. See also the Sidebar.
Wiki: Love to collect/maintain knowledge on nearly everything in a wiki. ^[1]
- History: Great War or World War I. ^[2]
Motorbikes: Since September 2010 on a BMW K 1300 GT after 4 Yamaha's (3 x FJR 1300, 1 x Diversion 900).
Formula One: With Max Verstappen again a great fun to watch. Always a fan of Schummi. ^[3]
Gambling: I like to make a calculated bet for fun.

Sports

To follow these sports he uses every possible medium.
Every year I visit the Tata Steel Chess Tournament ^[5] in Wijk aan Zee and the Daniël Noteboom toernooi ^[6] in Leiden.

I like to take photographs. I used Flickr to share them on the Internet, but not anymore.

Wikipedia

Internet has made knowledge like encyclopedias more accessible. I am contributing content to Wikipedia.

Computer Languages

The use of programming languages is volatile. Cobol, Fortran, C, C++ have ruled the world, Now Java is hot.
The advantage of Java is the fact it is more than a computer language. But for how long will this head start last? What seems to be stable is the usage of object-oriented technology.
My own webpages are mainly written in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, jQuery and Cascading style Sheets.
