Fora is a British provider of flexible office and coworking spaces, founded in 2016 by Enrico Sanna and Katrina Larkin. The company focuses on a premium, hospitality-led model, which it refers to as "Pro-working."[2]

Following its 2022 merger with The Office Group (TOG), Fora became the single consumer-facing brand for the combined entity, which is one of the largest flexible workspace portfolios in the United Kingdom.[3] The parent company, The Office Group, is majority-owned by Blackstone Real Estate Partners.

History

edit

Fora was founded in 2016 by Enrico Sanna, who serves as CEO, and Katrina Larkin, using their experience from the hospitality and leisure industries.[4][2] The first location opened in Old Street, London.[2] The company's business model focused on premium, design-led workspaces, often partnering with architects and designers for high-specification finishes.[5]

The company was backed by real estate private equity firm Brockton Capital.[6]

Merger with The Office Group

edit

In March 2022, Fora and The Office Group (TOG), which was majority-owned by Blackstone, announced plans to merge to meet the growing post-pandemic demand for flexible working models.[7] The transaction created a combined group valued at approximately £1.5 billion, comprising 72 locations and over 3.1 million square feet of workspace across the UK and Germany.[8]

Following regulatory approval, the merger was completed in September 2022. The merged business was organized under the parent company, The Office Group (TOG). Enrico Sanna, Fora’s co-founder, was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the combined entity, while TOG co-founder Olly Olsen became Executive Chairman, and Katrina Larkin took the role of Chief Environment, Social and Governance Officer.[1]

In November 2023, the parent company consolidated all customer-facing operations under the Fora brand name. At that time, the group operated over 70 workspaces, including 61 in central London, claiming to be the largest operator in central London by number of locations.[3] The company cited the "Fora" name's connection to the word "forum" as reflecting its commitment to creating dynamic, community-focused workspaces.[9]
