Md Shohil Aktar (born 31 October 1998) is an Indian physicist known for his research in semiconductor device physics, particularly heterostructure MOSFET optimization. He has contributed to publications on nanotechnology and materials science. He is currently seeking PhD opportunities in semiconductor and solid-state physics, condensed matter physics, plasma physics, materials science, and computational physics.
Early life and education
editAktar was born in Malda, West Bengal. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Kalyani in 2021, followed by a Master of Science in Physics from West Bengal State University in 2023. His MSc thesis focused on threshold voltage shift analysis in Si-SiGe MOSFETs.
Career and research
editAktar has held research internships at the University of California, Riverside (2023) and St. Xavier's College, Ahmedabad (2023). His work includes collaborations with institutions such as Jadavpur University and the Eudoxia Research Centre. He contributed to projects in ultrafast spectroscopy and quantitative research design.
His notable research includes optimizing heterostructure MOSFET performance using MATLAB simulations, achieving a reported 20% improvement in device efficiency. Aktar declined a PhD offer in lipid nanostructures from the University of Central Lancashire to pursue research aligned with semiconductor physics. He has co-authored publications in areas spanning nanotechnology, materials science, and astrophysics.
