The Battle Of Tirby Woodswas a battle in the Second Fjallish-Britannian War, and served as a major development in Fjalland's invasion of Britannia, with the Fjallish army led by King Harald V defeating King Derthert's army in the plains and woods outside of Tirby Castle.
The Fjallish drew the Britannian lords out of their castles by pillaging, forcing them to meet in the open field. Harald put his heavy infantry in circle formations around rocky slopes while the archers were situated above. Harald's force of lower-tier troops and mercenaries were put in front in a shield wall. The Britannian cavalry, led by Prince Edurand, smashed in to the Fjallish front lines, cutting through the vanguard but not without casualties, as archers rained down arrows above them. Due to the infantry's formation, the Britannian knights, couldn't outmaneuver them, leaving many to die including Lord Arentor of Corrodon. Edurand ordered a retreat and dismount for his force, ordering them to advance on the enemy. The fighting was, fierce, as the infantry clashed and the Britannian crossbowmen faced off against the Fjallish archers. In the late hours of the day, Jarl Bjorn of Gretysfjord arrived at the battlefront with his party of 2,000 horses, and before the Britons could return to their horses, the Fjallish charged in forcing the whole army to scatter.
