My username, "Ceylon Chingu", means "Sri Lankan Friend". My main goal here is to support open access to knowledge, and language and linguistic rights. I believe in universal access to knowledge and everyone's right to access information in languages they understand.
I contribute by adding citations, and making edits in English Wikipedia and translating between English and Sinhala for Wikimedia and mdwiki.
I'm currently working as the Volunteer Community Coordinator of Wiki Project Med and coordinate translation efforts with a global network of volunteers. More about my role in mdwiki is here. I'm also a member of the Volunteer Support Network.
COI
editI receive a stipend for my project management and coordinating role within Wiki Project Med. However all my translation contributions to Wikipedia including Wiki Project Med are uncompensated, and made in a volunteer capacity.
