The Guizhou State Security Department (GSSD; Chinese: 贵州省国家安全厅) is the provincial affiliate of the Chinese Ministry of State Security (MSS), responsible for national security, intelligence, and secret policing in Guizhou province. It is headquartered in the provincial capital of Guiyang.
Activities
editAccording to the Guizhou Provincial Government, the functions and powers of the Guizhou SSD include the examination and approval of construction projects involving national security matters in Guiyang and across the province, the punishment of acts that intentionally obstruct the state security organs from carrying out national security tasks in accordance with the law, and "the punishment of acts that do not constitute a crime."[1]
