Toss the Turtle

Toss the Turtle is a flash game released in 2009 on Newgrounds. It was featured on the Newgrounds front page only nine days after being uploaded.[1] In 2016 it was ported to iOS and Android as Super Toss the Turtle.[2][3]

Gameplay

Players attempt to launch a turtle out of a cannon for as great a distance as possible. Various upgrades and items can be purchased to increase the distance the turtle is launched.[4]

Reception

The game received overwhelmingly positive reviews.[5][6] Reviewers compared it favorably to similar flash games such as Kitten Cannon and to old arcade games.[4][7] The game was praised for its gameplay and its animations [7]

Legacy

It inspired the creation of several similar games including Learn to Fly and Burrito Bison.[8]
