The Dichotomy is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter David Kushner.[1] The album was released on August 30, 2024, through Kushner's independent music label Miserable Music Group.[2][3] Five of the songs off the album were released as singles, "Daylight",[4] "Dead Man",[5] "Skin and Bones",[6] "Hero",[7] and "Humankind".[8] The song "Darkerside" was not released as a single but also charted.[9] The genre is considered to be pop and gothic pop.[10] The album was released to digital download, streaming, CD, and LP formats.

The first single to be released from the album, "Daylight", achieved significant chart positions, hitting number 33 on the Billboard Hot 100,[11] #1 in several countries, including the Netherlands,[12] New Zealand,[13] and Switzerland,[14] and #4 in Australia. It additionally received multiplatinum certifications in several countries.[15][16][17] The album was certified gold by Music Canada, on September 5, 2024.[17]
