Urgent: Please fix this template for printed content Template:Wikipedia's sister projects/styles.css.
editFirstly, apologies for writing in English if this is not your first language (this is an automated message).
This template has been detected as one of 436 pages using styles that break the page when printed when the user is using dark mode. The fix is very straightforward - all your styles relating to dark mode must be scoped to. Since there is a high risk of this templates being copied to other wikis it is important this notice is acted on ASAP.
To fix this:
- Update `@media (prefers-color-scheme: dark` to `@media screen and (prefers-color-scheme: dark`
- Wrap any styles relating to `html.skin-theme-clientpref-night` in `@media screen`
If this message has not been acted on in 7 days, this will be fixed by an automated script. Thank you for your help fixing this important issue.
For any questions feel free to ask them at phab:T369874.

All I'm asking is that Wikifunctions, the newest sister project, be added to the list. 1isall (talk/contribs) 16:12, 5 July 2025 (UTC)
- See #Adding Wikifunctions to sister projects' section above. * Pppery * it has begun... 16:59, 5 July 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks, Pppery. I should've read that earlier edit request asking about the same thing beforehand. 1isall (talk/contribs) 18:33, 5 July 2025 (UTC)
- Since it's been asked at least 3 times, should it be made a perennial edit request for now? 1isall (talk/contribs) 18:39, 5 July 2025 (UTC)

Wiktionary logo in dark mode
editI notice that, under dark mode, the an older version of the Wiktionary logo is used in this template. It doesn't seem good (to me) to use an out-of-date logo. In the sandbox, I made a version that, upon dark mode, inverts the levels of the v2 Wiktionary logo (using class=skin-invert-image). You can see the effects in the test cases if you toggle dark mode on and off.

Portal navbar no header2 duplicate anchor
editSince Diff/1081210009 by Guilherme Burn, Template:Portal navbar no header2 uses the same anchor #sister-projects-list as Template:Wikipedia's sister projects so it can re-use Template:Wikipedia's sister projects/styles.css, causing an HTML validation error and showing up at Special:LintErrors/duplicate-ids. While we could duplicate the TemplateStyle to Template:Portal navbar no header2/styles.css and replace the anchor name, I suggest we instead replace the references to the anchor in Template:Wikipedia's sister projects/styles.css with a new class that could be used by both templates. Thoughts on what to call it? Any objections? @Izno: Courtesy ping to primary contributor to Template:Wikipedia's sister projects/styles.css Daask (talk) 18:01, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
Out of date
editThis template is out of date now, with Wikifunctions going live in 2023, and Abstract Wikipedia going live last week, which may or may not count as a separate sister project. If Wikifunctions isn't going to be added because it is editor focused, then MediaWiki and Meta-Wiki also shouldn't be here. Btw Wikinews is closing in a month , so maybe remove it as well? Change the Wikifunctions logo to 35px as otherwise it sticks out like a sore thumb. Kinopiko talk 02:22, 8 April 2026 (UTC)

Description of suggested change: Please copy the sandbox into main. This will use Module:Sister project logo to generate the logos for sister project.
Currently, the image links on the Main Page violate the Creative Commons licenses for the logos, because the logos link to the corresponding sister project. The CC licenses require us to link to the actual images, in order to fulfill the attribution clause and to provide a link to the license.
The Sister project logo module correctly handles the generation of the markup for the logos. The logos that are CC licensed will now link correctly. The logos that are in the public domain have their links suppressed (to avoid clutter for screen readers). The alt fields are set to be descriptive (e.g., "Wikidata logo"), which also helps screen readers navigate the page. The CSS classes are set correctly to avoid the MediaWiki viewer, and to display the dark-on-light logos correctly on dark mode. Module:Sister project logo is stable and is already used on 1.2M articles.
Thanks in advance for your help! — hike395 (talk) 02:37, 27 April 2026 (UTC)
Done Note: I have had to fully protect that module now it is used on the main page — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 10:10, 11 May 2026 (UTC)

Please bring back the links to the wikis in the images. Thanks, 2600 etc (talk) 21:20, 1 June 2026 (UTC)
- If I'm not mistaken, this change would need to happen at Module:Sister project logo, as that is what is being called now. I do find it odd that some of the images are clickable and some are not. ASUKITE 14:55, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
- Looking at the module too, I don't think any links are generated there either, so a change could in theory occur in either place (we could probably wrap the logo in a link) but interface design is not my forte. I think there's merit to the idea at least for mobile users. ASUKITE 15:00, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
- It's because some of those images are public domain and some are not. This is determined by Module:Sister project logo/data#L-36. For those which are not, we need to link to them in order to give attribution to the author. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 21:19, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
- To emphasize what Martin said: we're required to link to Commons files for logos that are CC licensed. Conversely, linking to the wikis (as we used to do) violates the CC licenses.
- The license for each logo is specified at Module:Sister project logo/data. Extreme care should be taken in editing that file, since it affects every single sister logo on en WP. — hike395 (talk) 02:25, 3 June 2026 (UTC)
