Question

edit

is there protocol on whether or not to include reviews with no clear grading system, rather writing (mixed), (positive), (negative) etc., all sourced of course? Scientelensia (talk) 22:16, 3 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Firefox-specific bug: star ratings appearing vertically on mobile

edit
Screenshot of template rendering incorrectly

This template has an issue in mobile view for Firefox users - star ratings are appearing vertically instead of horizontally. The issue isn't present when using Chrome (141.0.7390.70). Tested in Firefox 146.0.a1 on Android (Firefox Nightly), article in screenshot is Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance.  Hex talk 12:20, 29 November 2025 (UTC)Reply

I can't reproduce this problem in Safari for iOS, but the screen shot is pretty clear. The stars are enclosed in simple spans inside a td cell, so I don't see a reason for them to wrap. It might be a Firefox mobile bug. I have tweaked the sandbox to nowrap the contents of table cells, which may work around this Firefox issue and which will probably cause problems for long publication names. I don't see a way to nowrap just the right-hand column containing the ratings. Take a look at the "Lots of stars" test case. – Jonesey95 (talk) 13:11, 31 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Any Decent Music

edit

It seems the exact stylisation of this site's name varies across different contexts, but "Any Decent Music" is what appears in browser tab names of album review pages. I think the name should be changed from "AnyDecentMusic?" to "Any Decent Music" in the template. ~2026-13653-92 (talk) 15:07, 23 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Mobile browser + badly written Lua = no good!

edit

Do mobile users not get any love? It's so broken and has complete disregard for dark mode. There are global site-wide stylesheets for a good reason, there is no good reason to reinvent the wheel. It's buggy, it's ugly in dark mode, and it just really really needs an update.. 😬 Fireboyd78 (talk) 13:37, 28 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Please be more specific. This template looks fine to me in the Vector 2022 dark mode (selected in the right sidebar) in Brave for Mac OS and does not produce any Linter errors. Please link to an affected article and make sure you are using the official dark mode. Describe what you are seeing and what you expect to see instead. – Jonesey95 (talk) 13:11, 31 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

new feature - automatic sorting

edit

I've added to the sandbox version a new feature, triggered by sort=yes, which will automatically sort the reviews by their source, cos i've not been enjoying having to do a manual sort. It tries to unwikify the text and will ignore "the". Although I've been using lua for longer than I've been an editor here (!), this is my first change to Wikipedia lua so I'll leave it for your review and thoughts.
