Can you add Tumblr to contact info? That’s the best way to get in contact with me off Wikipedia and I can’t tell people that with the current state.
Apologies for not properly submitting this request, I couldn’t figure it out. Regards, a most likely very cozy Cooldood5555 ✈️ (let's talk) 23:06, 29 January 2026 (UTC)
Not done for now Please establish a consensus for this alteration before creating an edit request.- If you want it just for your own userpage then try adding
| custom_label1 = [[Tumblr]] | custom_data1 = [https://tumblr.com/tumblrUsername tumblrUsername]to your infobox. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 10:12, 30 January 2026 (UTC)- Other options include existing parameters

"Caucasian" in Example; the page for Caucasian says it's obsolete
editAs the title says: in the Example section of the page, the box says:
| race = [[Caucasian race|Caucasian]]
On the other hand, the page for Caucasian states that "[t]he Caucasian race [...] is an obsolete racial classification of humans based on a now-disproven theory of biological race".
I feel like this also means that the example is outdated, too. However, I am really not well versed (or, at all) in questions of race. Those who are; please deal with this topic adequately. 5ucur (talk) 00:52, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
- Simply removing it from the example is a good option: Special:Diff/1338249866. —andrybak (talk) 01:19, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
- I'm a quite new user so I didn't want people to get a weird impression of me for straight up deleting a race thing ^^" Especially as I don't deal with these topics usually in my life.
- Thanks for the reply and dealing with the topic! 5ucur (talk) 01:24, 14 February 2026 (UTC)

Missing "role" parameter; "country" parameter bugged?
editThe copy-pasteable template seems to be missing the "role" parameter (which defaults to "- Wikipedian -" at the top of the box) — Is there a reason for this exclusion, or should that maybe be added in? I've seen a number of userpages use custom "role" values, and as far as I can tell, it's one of if not the only parameter absent from the box.
Additionally, copy-pasting the template in its current form onto a blank page results in "country" being listed as [[|]]. Does this happen due to an error in transclusion from Template:Country data or something, or can it be fixed from this page? It would be nice to be able to not display my country in the infobox, but this effectively forces you to put some value in there to make it go away.
First time making a talk page entry, sorry if this is out of line somehow.
inventorfrog (talk) 23:44, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
- The /doc page is likely out-of-date (anyone can update it) which might be why the
|role=is missing. As far as the|country=issue goes, I suspect it is because there is a hidden comment being copied over, which is being put into the country data as a null (rather than empty/nonexistent). If you don't want to put a country, just remove the line. Let us know if you have any other questions. Primefac (talk) 10:45, 21 March 2026 (UTC)
Centering of userboxes
editCurrently when userboxes are separated using newlines, they will display left-aligned rather than centered within the infobox. Would it be better if they were centered? Have a look at Template:Infobox_Wikipedia_user/testcases#Userboxes. — chrs [talk] 23:52, 24 March 2026 (UTC)
- Both examples look the same to me. Userboxes, unless someone has done something broken, are all the same width. – Jonesey95 (talk) 19:20, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
- This is about the positioning of the userboxes within the infobox rather than the width of the userboxes themselves. The left example has the userboxes positioned left-of-center (as if it were a label) while the right example has the userboxes centered. Does it not appear that way on your browser? — chrs [talk] 00:35, 26 March 2026 (UTC)
- At my default zoom settings I can see there might be a few pixels more on the right than the left (in the left-centred infobox) but unless I'm really zoomed in it's not that noticeable. I have no opinion on the request just thought I would verify that there is a visual difference (even if small). Primefac (talk) 11:01, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
- I looked in two other browsers (logged out, like most of our readers), and I saw a significant difference, as the OP describes. The sandbox looks much better. This template appears to use the default infobox width of 22em, and something in my font settings appears to make userboxes just a little less wide than 22em. In the other browsers, the userboxes are considerably less wide than 22em. – Jonesey95 (talk) 13:41, 27 March 2026 (UTC)
- After a bit more testing, I have implemented this change. – Jonesey95 (talk) 16:29, 27 March 2026 (UTC)

Userbox Font Color
editUserboxes seem to have their font color become unreadable when placed inside of a infobox. Any ideas on how to fix this? Tried playing with font color settings to not avail. Armeym (talk) 05:41, 23 April 2026 (UTC)
- Do you have some example diffs to link to? Primefac (talk) 10:47, 23 April 2026 (UTC)
Color change
editIs there any way to change the background colors, font colors, border colors, etc. of the infobox? --DollarStoreBa'alConverse 20:51, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
- I use the undocumented parameters abovecolor, abovefontcolor, color, and headerfontcolor. No idea if that's supposed to be used that way. 🫀 Crash // Organhaver ( it / he | talk to me, maybe? ) 21:57, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
- 1)Why are those parameters undocumented?
- 2)I didn't see anything except for the normal dark grays on your page, so I put my infobox in my sandbox and it doesn't appear to be working for me either. Strange. --DollarStoreBa'alConverse 22:23, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
Please update the CSS

The CSS does not work at all. None of the following parameters work at all:
- abovecolor
- color
- fontcolor
- abovefontcolor
- headerfontcolor
- tablecolor
- nocat
None of them do anything. I tried. --DollarStoreBa'alConverse 21:43, 9 May 2026 (UTC)
- Please check if colors work for you in the light mode of Vector 2022. Styling of infoboxes is intentionally disabled in dark mode (see Module:Infobox/styles.css). —andrybak (talk) 22:32, 9 May 2026 (UTC)
- As for parameter
|nocat=, please be more specific – do you have a diff or a permanent link to a page where you see the problem? —andrybak (talk) 22:37, 9 May 2026 (UTC)- Wow. Welp. Now it's working. Why is the CSS in infoboxes specifically so sensitive that it MUST be hidden on light mode? --DollarStoreBa'alConverse 22:40, 9 May 2026 (UTC)
- Some of the reasons are explained in discussion archives. Search for "dark mode" in Template talk:Infobox/Archive 19. You can also search for mentions of "infobox" in archives of MediaWiki talk:Common.css. There are probably relevant sections in archives of WP:VPT as well.
- If you would like to help resolve the issue, please avoid using these parameters, as they rely on deprecated parameters of Template:Infobox. Instead, you can use TemplateStyles to apply CSS to {{Infobox Wikipedia user}}. How to do it is documented at Template:Infobox/doc#CSS styling.
- Other work related to fixing dark mode and TemplateStyles is listed at MediaWiki talk:Common.css/to do. —andrybak (talk) 22:47, 9 May 2026 (UTC)
