Addition of stage play component
editMaybe a stage play component is a great addition for this. Warm Regards, Miminity (Talk?) (me contribs) 07:59, 20 May 2026 (UTC)
Restore the "Demographic" parameter or keep it thrown away?
editI should have participated in the discussion regarding the request to remove the Demographic parameter in Manga/Novel articles. I admitted I somewhat opposed and think it's useful in any way. To be fair and honest, Lullabying's first reply was right. The demographic is related to the magazine a manga is published in, not the overall target audience of the series. After yesterday's discussion with silviaASH on their talk page, they said I have to go here to request whether or not we should restore the "Demographic" parameter. Alternatively, if it had been restored, I suggest we require at least one source stating the demographic similar to "Genre" parameter. ⋆。˚꒰ঌ Clara A. Djalim ໒꒱˚。⋆ 10:18, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
- I say it should remain omitted for the same reasons that led to its removal in the first place. Also, many publications today (especially those on digital platforms) don't seem to have a specific target audience in terms of gender or age, and I think it's an unnecessary task to go looking for sources to justify the use of a parameter that isn't clearly defined and may even be deliberately ambiguous in many works. I also agree with what silviaASH said on her talk page: if the demographic is dependent on the magazine and not the series, then that should be covered in the article about the magazine, not in the article about the series. - Yeah, I think it should go without saying, but +1 to this. We don't need it. As I said in the original discussion, if the demographic is relevant to the series and we have sources saying so, it can be noted in the article prose. silviaASH (inquire within) 21:50, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
Revisiting auto-category adding of Category:Japanese television dramas based on manga
editI asked this before on Template talk:Infobox animanga/Archive 5#Auto category: Japanese television dramas based on manga but nothing came out of it. There are several light novels that later got a manga and television drama adaptation, but if you include the television drama parameter, it will automatically add the article to the category Category:Japanese television dramas based on manga. For example, My Beautiful Man was originally a light novel that later got a television drama adaptation, which became so popular the light novel got a manga adaptation. However, it's listed under the category Category:Japanese television dramas based on manga which is not true. lullabying (talk) 00:28, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
- This could probably be solved by using a template function to compare the release date of the light novel and manga if both exist to check which one came earlier, but I'm not sure how easy that'd be to implement. I'll take a look this weekend and see what I can do. Crestfalling (talk/contribs) 03:50, 11 June 2026 (UTC)
